Competition for K&C (1 Viewer)

Ok Brad thanks.I wonder if HB will make ordinary Jeeps at some point?.I want to get an amphibious one but can't decide on which, love both the winter and ordinary one.Hey i suppose the ordinary one might look good alongside K&C's DUKW,if a little dwarfed.

No what that statement from me was a logical argument on why (in opinion) King and Country is the best Toy Soldier Company in the World.

You my friend took my opinion and crapped on it.

I deal with these tatics everyday in the Halls of Congress - people who dont agree with logical opinions of a differeing view and because they personally dont like it - they personally attack the person who makes the argument.
It really is the last gasp of a losing position. But, enough of that - lets keep to the REAL SUBJECT of why KING AND COUNTRY IS GREAT.

My opinion of course and thats why it is on the K&C Thread. :)

The discussion wasn't about K&C being great or your belief that it is.It's fine you feel that way. The argument was about people's attitudes and behavior. Your posts just keep supporting my argument.

Right chaps why don't we call it quits there and get back to the thread about competition for K&C.Anyone else worried that its been a long time since we heard from NMA.I wonder if they have got a)Problems or B)something up their sleeve!

I think the closest thing to competition is the new stuff Britians has come out with in their Civil War range - hopfully Andy will answer that call and really go after this section of the market.

On WWII Tanks and Trucks - I leave that to you WWII experts.

I agree with you Ron,i think Britains stuff looks real good.I just have a sneaking suspicion Andys will be better. His figures are so good and get better all the time.

Why don't you try buying a WW2 Tank, you'll be hooked!

I am starting to drift to buying the AK Collection - Tim Tyler has a Panzer IV saved for me and is looking for a Panzer III - I will probally buy the Panzer II and then I start down that slippery slope of WWII - oh no

knew you'd cave,we all do in the end!

I'm surprised you WW2 guys haven't checked out Britains new WW1 line. They might be the best matte figures Britains has done.

I have seen them and i agree with you they are good.I like the Mons VC set,but once again waiting to see K&C's WW1 stuff.

Yes - King and Country's WWI will be the best ever. Just look at the Collector Club figure - outstanding - another successful line for Andy. :)

I agree with you, JR, they look very nice as do the tanks that ONTC is coming out with. I want to get some of those. I'm hoping to get a look at them in March at the toy soldier show up here in NJ.

In Andys' range and price point he is pretty hard to beat. The russians do a hell of a job,but I can get three or four for the same amount of money. The russians do make better stuff hands down. But, eighty five bucks for one figure? Not for me, I will say I am waiting for the right one when it comes to the russian figures. They really are museum pieces.Beautiful!
In all fairness they are apples and oranges. K&C figures , I am not afraid to handle. They seem to be well ahead of the rest when it comes to sculpting, shading weathering and so on.

When you see it, you better grab it. Anything new or extra special usually goes quickly. They are produced in limited numbers so your chance may not come round again. According to Aeroart's book many figures are made in quantities of 50 or less. Rarely over 100. The WWI guys are in the 10 or less range although they may still be in "production."

Doug,

How many St. Petersburg figures do you have and what's your source of supply?

I've never counted them, but maybe 200. I used to live near Thor Johnson who operates Aeroart/St. Pete. in Great Falls, VA so they were a constant source of temptation. Now I mostly buy on ebay or directly from Aeroart at www.aeroartinc.com He also has a table at most of the shows Valley Forge, Chicago, Annapolis.

A russian company sells them directly. They tend to have a greater selection, but costs vary wildly. Their website is tin-soldiers.pl.ru It takes about three weeks to get them if you order from Russia - but they do come which is important if you spend several hundred.

Here are some pics for a bit of light relief

Damian,

The Axis Leader Set is a really rare set, esp. with the certificate and box, which you have. Very nice.

Is there a shop for Aeroart? I have always wanted to track them down in Great Falls.
