Dear all, its been a while since we had a competition so we thought it was about time we had one to clear away those winter blues.
Many of you will know we make one of the largest selection of wooden warbirds in the world and now we are giving one of you the opportunity to own one of these magnificent models worth £450 for free, in the form of an Me 262 in Wellenmuster camouflage scheme. All you have to do is answer the following questions:

1. What was the name of the designer who is credited with inventing the
Me 262 Swallow.

2. What year did the Me 262 enter combat service

3. Last but not least - what wooden warbird would you like to see us produce.

The draw will take place in approximately 1 weeks time, the winner will be notified by email.
Due to the high cost of air freight the winner will be responsible for the cost of postage to their nominated address. The judges decision will be final.

Might as well participate… Here are my responses:

1. What was the name of the designer who is credited with inventing the Me 262 Swallow?

Although popularly connected to Willy Messerschmidt, The Me 262 was designed by a team led by Dr. Waldemar Voigt.

2. What year did the Me 262 enter combat service?

The ME-262 entered combat service officially in April 1944 and scored its first victory in July 1944.

3. Last but not least - what wooden warbird would you like to see us produce?

Tough question and TGM has made a ton of unique aircraft models already! However, it seems we need some Korean War aircraft to go with the excellent USMC figures that have been made… Perhaps the following:

Grumman F9F Panther (would complement the USMC figures)
Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star (first operational US jet fighter)
Republic F-84 Thunderstreak (lots of ordinance options as a ground-attack aircraft)
North American F-86 Saber (classic fighter of the Korean War)
Soviet Mig-15 (Can’t make an F-86 without its famous opponent!)

Lots of repaint potential with all those models!

Hope I win 😉

Woldemar Voigt headed the design team, with Messerschmitt's chief of development, Robert Lusser, overseeing.

Would love to see another Battle of Britain German Do-17z with a different paint configuration. Perhaps from I./ KG 76 stationed in Beauvais-Tille, France, in 1940.

Competition time.
1) The name of the designer was Waldemar Voigt.
2) The year the aircraft entered service was 1944
3) I would like to see the Fieseler Fi103R Reichenburg which was a manned version of the flying V1 bomb. It was tested by the female Hanna Reitsch and dramatised in the film Operation Crossbow. She visited Hitler in Berlin in his final days risking her life to fly to Berlin. I thought TG could also make a figure of her. She survived the war and died in 1979.

Nicholas,

TGM has beaten you to the punch on this 😎
Years ago they released their V001 set with a Fieseler Fi103R Reichenburg model, Hanna Reitsch figure, and a Luftwaffe officer figure. You can still find it on eBay, which is where I got mine a couple years ago…

It’s a great little set 😃

The winner is....

Dear all, we are pleased to announce that the winner of the Me 262 competition was Simon Osborne. Well done Simon we will contact you this week with regards to delivery of your prize.

We had some great suggestions for future warbirds from many of you and will be following up on those later this year. For those of you who participated we thank you and we will have another competition next month, which is not a million miles away. If you did not win this time, don't worry there is always next time!

Not a competition I entered but a very big well done to TG for running it when times are becoming more expensive for all of us and such a generous prize such as this will I'm sure make the winner's day if not longer !
:salute:: {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

Congratulations to the winner and all the participants who enrich the effort of TG for a nice fair contest and Kudos to the TG brand for such an event.

As TG frankly is my fav Toy soldier brand I look forward for further events and releases for the branch I collect and sooo jealous for the guys that went to London show and meet you guys, talked and purchase items in person.

All the best for your future plans!

All,

I would love to see another Me 262 released with a different paint scheme. I have the P-38 Lightning in my collection and what an outstanding model rendition of this iconic plane it is! I highly recommend TGM's warbirds to collectors of WWII aviation. My other hope is that TGM will release a P-51D Mustang for collectors.

TGM thank you for hosting this competition program for collectors!

Kind regards,

Alex
