If there is anyone who has accumalated some Frontline Confederate Cavalry figures that you would like to sell or trade I'm interested. There is a shortage of quality mid to late war Rebel cavalry figures available today. Frontline seems to have the best figures out there for the right depiction in this motif. The K & C set released last year has a distinct early war kind of "Gone with the Wind" look borrowed from some drawings and historical interpretations that really did not survive the test of time and to be honest are clad in a bit too much yellow to be representative of the evolved look of typical Confederate Cavalry. Britains has really not done much for mid to late war figures either. I've drawn up a diorama scene to be representative of either East Cavalry Field circa July 1863 that could easily be juxtaposed as far as the Battle of Yellow Tavern circa May 1864 for this display that will adorn by den. But without a supply of Frontline Confederates then the project goes on hold until all sets are accumalated. I'm looking for 15 specific Frontline Figures that give the scene a certain urgency and drama. In the meantime my "Ride around McClellen" display will be finished by mid summer and I hope to post that scene at that time. CS collectors take no offense as the Mosby set is superb but too target specific. Thanks all.

Hi Jefman,

While I do not have any Frontline Confederates for sale, I do want to say I very much look forward to seeing your diorama when you have completed it. Your projects sounds very interesting and quite exciting. Good luck with it!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Thanks Pat..."Ride around McClellen" with the 1st Virginia Cavalry figures by Britains is in the finishing stages. Frontline's Figures seem to capture the essence of Confederate Cavalry for the other diorama. I know Matt at First Legion told me he would be doing Confederate Cavalry representative of the 3rd day at Gettysburg/East Cavalry Field battle in a later release but he has so much on his plate just finishing his dismounted Federal troopers of Buford's cavalry day 1 and then his day 2 figures would follow so I don't see Rebel Cavalry on his radar for a few years (could be wrong) although his quality and depictions are first rate. His Rebel infantry scheduled for imminent release is mind blowing. Frontline Figures are somewhat varied, accurate, and representative, in my view, of a charging mid to late war squad. The CS diorama that UK Reb/Bob did of Mosby Rangers over on the CS thread is the inspiration. He used Conte and Britains Federal infantry also in an awesome splicing of multiple manufacturers and media. Although Bob is light years ahead of the pack in his renditions he has inspired all of us to take the figurines out the boxes and curio cabinets and display them in realistic, plausible actions. He created a K & C diorama with JEB Stuart and both rollouts of Confederate Cavalry into a tremendous display. Civil War Cavalry is specialized but it restrains me and keeps me singularly focused from going all over the map with this incredible hobby: a most refreshing form of visual stimulation and therapy.

Earlier today I noticed somebody on ebay has listed 5 or 6 Confederate cavalry figures. Sorry I don't recall the seller's ID but a simple search should find these pretty easily.

On second glance I see there are several sellers currently listing a number of these. Looks like a pretty good selection and in some cases some very modest prices too.

Hey Jefman,
We at BSP will be making a major ACW diorama in the near future and once it is finished we will be selling off most of the figures from FLF.
If you have the patience to wait, then you will get great low prices being that we are not dealers. We can't keep everything because of our room constraints. If you want to know how cheap, just visit our site and click on the Surplus Warehouse link and scroll down to the other FLF which we have to offer at this time. Good luck!
Nick
