Is anybody watching this? I've caught a little action when I could and liked what I saw. Spain and Brazil look to be headed toward the Final, maybe a preview of 2010?

As a Spain supporter, the only thing I didn't like about their victory yesterday over South Africa (sorry Damian) was their jerseys. A little ugly.

Nice to see the Egypt 1-0 Italy result! ;)

I totally agree the final will be Spain v Brazil and I think it will probably be decided by penalties...?

Well the Americans gave a good attempt but in the end Brazil was just to powerful.

Im proud of Landon, Tim, Clint, and the boys. They did a phenomenal job and I am excited to see what they do a year from now. Bring on the world!

It was actually very disappointing, to lose a two goal lead at halftime. The killer was the first one. As I mentioned in another thread, goals right before and after halftime are momentum killers. If Brasil had beat them up fom the get go, you could say "oh, well," but that wasn't the case here.

i use to like USA soccer team when they play players like Alexy Lalas,Tony Meola,...
Now i think you have a good goalman (Howard) and fast counter attack(Landon Donovan,Dempsey,Bradley,...) but you have very poor defense, and you get too much red cartons.I think defense is your biggest problem.
And i think you play good in this tournament but it is bad because now everyone will see what is your weaknes(defense) and they will get advantage off.You do not have a player who can "step on the ball" in situations when you are winning, you can not know how to steal the time when you are winning,....there is a lot of problems your team have and great and expirience team will know how to play against you.And the big problem is that you do not have enough new players to put in the squad.
Like Spain,Italy,Germany,Argentina,Brasil,....they have so much players that they can replace bad with good, but in your case you have maybe 16 good players and this is it.So you can be easy read in the game,no surprises.
Like if you are remmember when i critise spanish coach why he didnt attack with Guiza, and you see how good he was when he score two goals in the next game.Thsi si what i am talking about.Other teams have too much players so they can replace anytime they wannt.

Its Brazil. They hadnt been challenged by anybody the entire competition. Heck, if theyre challenged at all during a non-world cup match they probably thank the soccer gods that they have something to do. For 45 minutes we scared the living crap out of them. And in that second 45 minutes Brazil realized they had to finally play like Brazil. The U.S. isnt ready to take on Brazil at Brazil's level. Most teams cant handle Brazil on Brazil's level. But what we saw is that the US is finally ready to be a real challenge to the soccer powers of the world.

As an American I have hope.
