I'm glad to see Mad Max did so well. What a lovely day! -- Al
Well, I love Charlize Theron...bald head or not. I am a big fan of Hardy ever since his performance in
Bronson. HOWEVER COMMA, my favorite MAD MAX was
The Road Warrior. The stunts were real, the cinematography was mesmerizing, and music made the show. Just a great, timeless dystopian show that I can watch over and over.
I always wanted to win an Oscar, but now...nah. It is just so fake...so haughty...so weak...so cheesy...so glib with dumb humor and out of touch that I find it a waste of time. I lost respect for the Oscars years ago and now it is just a joke. That is why I am really bothered by the fact that a really good movie like
The Revenant got overshadowed by all this hash tag racial meshugas. It is just silly and it is worse when it comes from a clown like Chris Rock who's comedy is second rate to other comedic legends who have hosted the show.
The Oscars are so out of touch is not even funny anymore...it is sad. This celebration of film has turned into a pulpit for personal political propaganda which the Oscars have not seen since Little Feather accepted the Oscar for an absent Brando. Since the Littlefeather incident actors have not shown any restraint in blow hearting on their personal beliefs. However that is not the problem here. The problem is the Academy itself and beckoning to the sore losers who did not get nominated at all. They cried foul a month or so before the show because he or she did not get a nod. Then to add insult to injury they played the race card as sore loser.
Shame on those who played that card as that card is reserved for a true injustice...not being snub at the Oscars. Shame of those who hash tag whatever to create a movement that only exists in their eyes and not a movement for all artists. Shame on the Academy for playing into the hands of supposed racial inequality and exploiting it to make them seem like "down". Shame on Hollywood for golf clapping, fake smiling and putting on a the greatest performance of bullshit the Oscars have ever seen. And you know what, a little shame on Leo for following in the footsteps of those who use the Awards to blow heart about their cause a la Brando and Littlefeather. I'm happy for the guy, but c'mon man!
For shame...for shame.
