I think a lot have been done before, but always good to give 'em an airing

Cheers

Great job Simon.
I just started doing some head swaps with my Conte Civil War. Who knows, one of these days I,ll be in the big leagues with you guys.

Gary, that's great to hear. I bet you don't stop at head swaps :D.
It would be good to see your conversions when you've done.

Cheers

Great to hear that Gary!!!! Thats how it all starts, with a few simple slices of the blade! And about a dozen boxes of bandaids latter...........:p:cool:

You be careful! I tried slicing some ACTA figures, also pretty hard plastic, gave it up and got back to cutting up good old Canadian rubber.

Simon I cut ACTA plastic like butter compared to this new Italeri plastic! This new stuff is reallllllly tuff stuff. Just a simple head swope is a major under taking with this new stuff. I thought the bmc plastic was the toughest stuff out there till I tried this new stuff.
They switched to this new stuff this year that they claim is easier to glue together or something??? What an improvement for us converters???, If we can ever get them cut up for conversions we know they,ll hold together pisser with a little glue.:p
I wonder if they can make some artifical fingers out of this stuff after I cut all mine off trying to cut this stuff up.

VERY nice work. Good poses. Very well executed.

I admire people who can work that darn soft "rubbery" plastic of Conte's older figures. I much prefer the harder plastic of the Conte GI's or TSSD figures. Anyway, your poses are well thought out. Getting a believeable pose is one of the hardest parts!

I've been fooling around with the new TSSD cavalry sets. They are addictive as well as the WW2 stuff!

Gary B.

How about borrowing Leadman's chainsaw? :p

Thanks Gary,

The cavalry sets haven't made it over here just yet, but look good and I'll be picking some up when they do.

Simon.

I have never attempted converting plastic figures and this is very impressive stuff, I know your not meant to, but you can't see the joins!

You should do a 'How To' thread.

Jeff

I might have a crack at that Jeff. I prefer the soft Conte plastic, because it does allow for smooth(ish) joins.

I know that the regular hackers are familier with using the soldering iron to melt the plastic, but a step by step might encourage others. In which case more ideas to steal :p

Simon

Yat a boy Simon, chop away, love this stuff. I have to pick up the new TSSD, and do some Calvary conversions. Keep up the great work. Mike:)

Simon just finished reviewing your surgical and mending accomplishments I need to know if you had to apply for a converters license not as it was need. Along with others I'm looking forward to seeing them painted and in a number of mini dios. Thanks Simon for sharing them, take care.....The Lt.

No converters licence required, just prior notification to the local Accident & Emergency / E.R. Dept if your intention to convert, so they can have a finger surgeon on standby :p

That bad Tim, thanks for the info, I think you might have mentioned that last time we talked. I think it was you, who said we should start a thread to compare which types of bandaids work best on each cut. Gary glad to hear you are trying to convert, it's a lot of fun, you express your own artistic thoughts and talents as you go. Heads are the start, then a simple arm, then the other and that's it. The new TSSD Calvary, have conversions written all over them. Great pics Simon. Mike:)

Hey Mike did you get your new TSSD cavalry from Matt? I want to pick some of those up also for the chopping block. I might have to take a ride over to the bunker soon and pick some up if he has some in stock.

Tim, I picked some up Saturday, I bought 3 sets. I will probally pick a couple more up at the Dedham Show. They are better than I thought, you will really like them. I am working on converting the six blue color into 7th Calvary. There were a couple of packs left, but I'm sure Matt must have picked up a bunch. Mike:)
