Nice photos. That M21 looks about right in there. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Does the supports on the bottom of the landing craft come off so it will lay flush? If not do they look easy enough to remove?

The support comes off and it can lay flat so you can use it in a diorama.

I,ve been told that the landing crafts from Conte will be included in his upcoming Omaha Beach playsets.
Whether they will be the painted versions I don,t know.

Alex what is it made of? Is it polysotne like the K&C version? How heavy, the K&C version was like a bowling ball!

I haven't looked at the Build o Rama site for a while and there are some cool things on there. Thanks for the link Michael.

BTW, according to Conte, the craft is made of pewter. No idea of weight, however.

Brad I think the figures are pewter, I would be suprised if the craft itself was.

John,

You're right. Only the figures are pewter. I called Sierra and they said it's made of metal and it's heavy, which is why there is no free shipping on it. They also said it's been doing very well. They said smaller K & C vehicles do well on it but that the Shermans won't fit.

The K&C landing craft is heavier but not by a whole lot. Not sure what its made of maybe resin and polystone.

I asked Chuck today whether he thinks it's plastic. He says it's metal and darn heavy too.

Guys, as an alternative to Conte, which I believe is $145-165 for the LCM, try the Trumpeter 1/35th scale LCM model kit. The tank bay in the Trumpeter kit is close to 1/32nd and will easily accomodate a 1/32nd scale Sherman from 21st Century or FOV. The kit looks great once assembled, can easily be painted, and at a much lower price than Conte is, for me, worth the assembly. I've just picked up a bunch of Trumpeter LCM's in Canada for around $45 Canadian dollars apiece; if you look around a bit, you can probably find similar value in the U.S., altho the kit retails for about $63 U.S.

The beach and water effect base that come with the LCVP is made out metal and would make an excellent weapon. Both landing craft come with a small stand to display them with, but can be displayed fine without them. I display them at the toy soldier shows with DD 61 and DD 62 and they look great in and around both landing crafts. 165.00 per beats 400.00 plus for a DD 12.

One of my customers likes the Conte LVCP and LCM so much he has decided to buy one of each and sell his DD 12, so contact me if anyone is interested in it........

Its weight is 4.63 lbs. Sorry, Brad I goofed it does have some plastic. The paint job is great and I like this Conte LCM3 and will buy the LCP sometime in the near future. That is if Andy will give me some space between WWII new releases.
The one fault I find with this LCM3 is that it has no marking or numbers.

If you wanted to add some customized non-destructive markings or numbers, Archers Fine Transfers are the thing. Find a picture of an LCM and using it as a reference, look for something close on their web page. Look at all the offerings because you never know if a tank number will or will not work on an LCM. The transfers are like decals except they are rub on, easy to get off with an eraser, and work on all surfaces. They are 1/35 but you can get numbers of various sizes the do work for 1/30. I have used them to customize several of my FOV models. My four Tiger I's now each have distinctive numbering. Same with 12 Shermans. Give it a try. I like 'em.http://www.archertransfers.com/ ;) Michael

Too bad about the plastic. I'll probably pass on it then.

Brad check out the paratroopers "Devils from above" 2 for $60 I'm pretty sure you will like them. They have 4 harnesses and the chute lines are divided into 4 sections attached to 4 hooks that attach to the harness. They look great, are easy to set up, and blend in with the King & Country paratroopers.
