Here is a photo of Bob Walker's Conte Roman Galley. I suspect that the unique, artful display that he had made for it, cost more than the galley did itself.

With all due respect....does Bob consult on decorating busses in India...:D

I to have this great Roman Galley....

I think you may have posted that pic once before- either way, it is spectacular!! I have mine as well, though not as artistically displayed. :)

The pic looked familiar to me too. Maybe it was in Toy Soldier and Model Figure magazine.

Actually, I had just posted the photo under "Dioramas" and thought I should also post it here for Conte fans. That is probably where you guys saw it. I am sure that you haven't seen this elsewhere. Bob recently converted his garage into a toy soldier room. He did not have the galley or that custom made display case before then.

Greg,

It will look great wether its in your museum or otherwise. If you come out to the West Coaster in March, I'll arrange for a visit to Bob's house for those who are interested in seeing his Southern California collection.

What date is the March West Coaster? And where is it held?
Thanks.

Walt

Walt,

It is usually held on the first Sunday in March each year. The 2011 show will be held on Sunday, March 6th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Room trading, like Chicago, is generally held on Friday and Saturday, although there may be a few who open their rooms on Thursday. It is held at the Irvine Marriott Hotel which had a free shuttle from John Wayne Airport (Orange County) which is aka SNA in airport speak. Typically, about 50 plus rooms are open for room trading while 180 plus tables are manned on Sunday. Andy Nielson of K&C always brings several new dioramas to the show. Rick Wang of Figarti Miniatures, Gerard Prime of Frontline Figures, and Richard Walker of WBritains are also regular attendees.

Ah, so this is in Irvine CA then. I always go to the Cold Wars HMGS convention every year in March, so it looks like I will not be making the trip to CA for this show. But thanks for the info. It sounds like it will be a really great show for anyone that can make.
Interesting coincedences, John Wayne Airport, March 6th, annivesrary of the battle of the Alamo.
