Some of my painted figures made by Conte, In my opinion one of the finest sets of plastic figures yet made. Such a shame that Conte no longer produces.
This set consisted of no less than 27 different poses.

Some beautiful shots. Thanks for sharing them. I couldn't agree more with you about Conte's figures. Love him or hate him, he revolutionized the plastic side of the hobby with his figures. The fact it looks like he will no longer produce even just figures in plastic - much less playsets - is a sad loss to the hobby IMHO.

Great painting Mike. You can make a nice "Saving Private Ryan" diorama with these guys. To me they are some of the best US WW2 figures ever made. It's a pity they don't make stuff anymore. I'd like to get some more of these as I still don't have all 27 poses. Their Germans are equally as impressive in my opinion.

Yes, nice paint jobs of those figures. Too bad Conte didn't do another run of them. Don't forget, there were 27 ORIGINAL poses, some of us who convert have a lot more than that :)

Wonderful painting !
Excellent job on the detail...every time I look at a picture I see something I missed before.

Thank you for posting.

Gary
I have been doing conversions with the Austin Marines, Conte and TSSD.
They combine easily to make the new poses.

Thanks Gary, with that many figures in the set I guess a number of conversions can be achieved, never actually tried any myself.

Thanks again for your comments, as you suggest I think I'll paint up some more and have a go at setting up a little dio.

There are a few sets of loose Conte G.I.'s on e-bay right now. Decent price and both have the bazooka team and the HTF 30 cal. mg team.
