For any Australian Zulu War / Conte fans I am pleased to inform you that we have received the first shipment of Zulu War figures which include :
ZULU13 Standing Firing (2)
Zulu14 Kneeling Firing (2)
Zulu19 Steady Lad Ready (2)
Zulu20 Command Set (2)

These sets have come in at A$72 each.

Richard Conte has also kindly supplied us with his Special Edition book published by Osprey and written by Ian Knight. The books will be free to those who order the above four sets whilst stocks last.

Please note Richard Conte has informed me overnight that his first production run of 13 and 14 have nearly sold out and he has had to order more. This is not surprising as these are the two sets that collectors may buy multiples of.

They are smaller than King and Country figures but as mentioned in another thread they are compatable in size with Britains and Frontline. Photos in another thread show Britains and these new Conte figures together.

If you need any further information please PM me or call us at 07 3855 3566.
I can also email you a flyer with 21 images of the Zulu range.

We will of course continue with the series and get any other new ranges brought out by Conte this year.
Regards

Anybody who collects Zulu must be in heaven with all the new sets from Britains and Conte. For such a small war it must rank up there collecting wise with the big boys,WWII,Napoleanics, and possibly ACW.

Mark,
A lot of credit goes to Stanley Baker and Michael Caine and a great movie (incidentally I am voting for Hugh Jackman and Jude Law in the remake if ever done) plus of course the heroic stand and the 11 VC's. There is Thermopylae, The Alamo and Little Big Horn and we could probably put Arnhem in there but in the case of Rorkes Drift they won and most survived.
Also helped a little by the fact an incompetant General showed how not to do it the day before.
Conte has created figures that remind people of the two movies and some well known artworks very well.
Regards
Brett

If you remember I took quite a bit of flak for saying exactly that on another thread some months back. Prepare for incoming :D

Brett,I said on another thread that a real good movie can really do wonders for a range.Reb I hope people don't think I'm putting The Zulu War down it's just that it's popularity is all out of proportion to the size of the conflict.

Agree Mark,
A good war / historical movie is a lot of free advertising if a producer has figures that can relate to the subject.
On that note I just received info about the first Avatar busts from Sideshow !
It will not have been lost on some that Mel Gibson is doing a Viking movie and guess which brand has covered that subject well ?

I don't think numbers in a conflict realy matter when it comes to popularity its just what people like.

Really?! I was thinking if they remade "Zulu," Chard would be played by George Wendt and Danny DeVito as Bromhead....possibly Rowan Atkinson as CS Bourne and Jason Alexander as Hitch. Who knows, maybe Tarentino will direct it. Of course, with this cast, survival of the 24th cannot be guaranteed. But think of the sculpting challenges!
