Conte's 24th Foot (2 Viewers)

Conte's 24th Foot and Zulus enter the struggle at Rorke's Drift as Lt. Bromhead, Lt. Chard and Colour Sergeant Bourne go hand to hand with a Zulu Warrior while a Private receives a death blow.

I built the building refering to the a scaled map of the defensive lay out provided by Lt. Chard. If you check my first posting to the How To Section as well as the Diorama Section they will provide you with comments and photos. Unlike Conte's and others I wanted them to reflect the building as they appeared at the time......The Lt.

Conte's Zulus now take part in the assualt on the Drift. Would like to have seen Conte provide the same figures in metal as well as various hand to hand sets.....The Lt.

Lt, I really liked what you have been doing so I finally restarted my Conte plastic 24th Ft. Starting with Bromhead and CS Bourne

It's nice to know I've motivated another to show their painted 24th. Figures really look good. What are you using for a pre coat if any and what paints are you using. I'm finding my figures are begining to lose their paint and got loads of touch up to do. Hope all's well........joe

Games workshop flat black primer. Games workshop acryllics. Though I did not prime these two. I finsihed them with the GW clear Gloss and then used an ink to help bring out the detail.

Thanks KV for the info, thought I'd send along photos of a ZULU IMPI on the attack.

Cleaned all the rest of three boxes of figures,(well, almost all) and primed them. Started painting them last night. Will start finishing them slowly. The detail on that type of plastic is good for the most part. The flashing ans seams are a bit of a pill though yeah? No problem on the paint info. Always glad to freely give what was given me. Michael Hall at Sierra told me about the primer.

Hey Lt., Mike of Modwalls here. Glad to see you are posting your great collection of British 24th and Zulu. I've been following your threads and others for the last two months. I feel like a fish out of water talking on these sites. I have been finishing up my farm houses, but they still have to be painted. Again, you did a great job on the Hospital and Store house. I thank you for the plug, and I hope to be selling my bombed out buildings and walls soon. My sister will be posting pictures at her web site in the comming days. I come to this site to read and learn as much as I can. There are alot of very talented people doing what we do. Keep up the great work, and post your pictures there great. Mike not Tony the Tiger.

Hi Mike nice hearing from you and you should be posting photos of both your buildings as well as your painted and converted figures. The forum does make it easy for you to post photos and you've got some great items. Take care and keep in touch......Joe
