Converted Russians (1 Viewer)

LT. Zulu's , we shall see. I have all kinds of ideas for various themes, just havent gotten roundtoit! I had some conte Zulus ready to carve on, tossed them back in the box.Zulu bug will bite again so until then they can gather dust.

One thing thats been gnawing at me is Mtd Normans as my 5 Conte Mounted dont really make much of a charge I envision. I'll get round to that one come Fall.

I do have 16 Jagers waiting to be Painted, no real conversion effort other than loosing the plumes.I got as far as Priming them.I think Tim will beat that here PDQ!

Well I got some paint on the first 9 figures! I need to touch up a few spots when I get my eyesight back, I burnt myself out painting these up tonight. I can only paint for so long and my eyes start bugging out on me.
Heres the first batch with some paint. 18 more to go! but I think I need a painting break before I start on the next 18 figures.

I still have a table full of figures still to get paint on, some just primed others at various stages of painting Heres a picture of my french and prussians also awaiting paint!
I also painted up some scratch built tree stumps that I made from self hardening clay. Joe and Mike really seamed to like these when they came over so I got some paint on them also. I think they look pretty cool painted up,and they were fun to make also but the self hardening clay is pretty brittle and easy to break so there pretty fragile.

The stumps look great.....Might be a market for them. Michael

How long does it take to shape and make them?

Chopping them up and converting them is pretty quick. I can do a simple conversion like a head swop or simple arm change in as little as 5 minutes. Studying the figures for ideas is what takes time, or if I get into building parts from scratch with two part putty or come across parts that just don,t want to fit that need to be custom fit.
I pretty much did all of those in one night and then cleaned them up a bit the next night removing extra putty and adding or removing some extra detail on the second night, wich was a real quick fix.
Some times you get a set of figures with a lot of conversion possibilities and its real easy to get ideas, like the Conte G.I. set, and other sets of plastic figures have to much blocking on them and have very limited conversion possibilities.
The painting is the hard part for me I,m not a great painter and I,m real slow and messy and have to keep re-touching the figures. I tend to rush my paint jobs and try to paint to many figures at once, but if you want to paint a lot of figures at once and ever get them done you have to settle for a little less quality or you,ll never get enough done.

Well you certainly have a terrific operation there! The most important thing

is you look like you are enjoying yourself! Your work bench looks like a fun

place to spend an evening!

I admire your ability to create new figures!:)

Heres another conversion I did tonight! I have to try and clean this one up a bit, I got kind of messy on this because it fought me the whole way but I like this 3 figure pose. I might have to try this pose again with french figures maybe on the next one.
I think I can still clean this one up better and hopefully the next time I try this pose it,ll go smoother?
This is a pose I,ve wanted K&C or britains to do, maybe First legion will do this pose of how napoleonic troopers carried there wounded?

Pretty clever Fish. It might have been a fight to get everything just right but results are excellent!

Here are the new figures painted up! I see all kinds of spots I missed or need to touch up after I see then blown up in the pictures so I,ll touch them up a bit after these pictures and flock the bases and then they,ll be 100% done, but there close to done here.
I also made a couple more of those scratch built tree stumps, there inclued in the photo.
