The Pooch as Corgi known in the UK is a large company that to me often seemed to lack direction over the past few years. However it appears there is new blood there now that may actually have a clue considering the new items in their 2007 catalog. My favourites being the new 1.72 scale Ju-52 and Halifax aircraft. They are also expanding their 1/50 military vehicle and figure range and they even have some more fire fighting gear that should keep Firebat/Sarge happy.

Oz,

Have you got any of the 1/50 scale figure sets?
They've caught my interest (especially the paras set - no surprise there), but I can't seem to find any close up photos and I was wondering about the quality.

It does look like Corgi has stopped production of the 1:32 line. I am not sure if it was sales or profit driven. I know some of the 1:32 items sold out very quickly so I don't know what the issue was. It does look like they have a very extensive inventory coming out next year though doesn't it.

Thanks

Simon, I haven't bought any Corgi figures or dioramas so I can't comment but the pics of them look ok.

As for their 1/32 scale aircraft, the Corgi products were excellent but there was limited demand because of their large size and weight and they were overpriced as well. Corgi sold the excess stock to discount wholesalers thence eBay where they usually sold for less than 50% of RRP.

The bulk of diecast aircraft collectors are into 1/72 and to a lesser degree 1/48 scale, leaving 1/32 well down the list. FOV recently introduced a 1/32 aircraft range to complement their 1/32 armor at well under the RRP of Corgi so I guess Corgi have decided to cut their losses.
