Yes you are correct, I was born in 1949 so they were before my time, they

were actually trending down as I became interested in Comics in the 1960's.

I read Mad Magazine and discovered these great books in the 1980's when

they were issued in hardback format. Many of the stories inspired movies,

and stories made famous by The Twilight Zone. Many of the original artists

became famous in their own right. I highly recommend picking up one of

these sets if you can locate one. Lots of fun to re-read.

I read EC comics as a kid ,an acquired the hard cover reproductions when Russ Cochran published them in 1981. Andy has the hard cover version of Two-Fisted Tales,and Front Line Combat,compliments of me. We did a trade. I felt the MAN should have these as additional source material. There was one story in the books that I always remembered entitled Broken Link!I think you can still find these on the web.

I remember the comic with the tank haunted by the ghost of J.E.B. Stuart. I specifically remember an issue where the tank was upset because the crew was hanging out with the grandson of the guy who killed Stuart. However, as I recall, the haanted tank was an amalgum of Allied and German tanks, with, for example, a Tiger Tank turret.

Yes, that was the second version. I guess they were getting flak from military types ridiculing a Stuart destroying Tigers on a regular basis ,like in every comic...I did love that series...Michael
