1. - Did a Crusader tank ever serve in Normandy, or anywhere in Europe, like Belgium, Germany, France, or Holland?:D

2. - Would it be easy to change the paint of a Crusader Tank to a green - summer camoflage?:)

3. - Would it be easy to change th colour of the Tank rider's uniforms to that of summer camoflage?:)Or just plain green/tertiary/brown uniforms?:D

4. - Would it be possible to change the British Desert infantry into green uniforms?:)

I can answer your first question. The Crusader served as a tank only in North Africa. It had an ineffective 2 pdr gun, thin armour and mechanical problems. It was completely superceeded by Shermans and even Cromwells in the European Theatre. I don't think the Crusaders were even brought back from North Africa at the end of that campaign.

In Europe, Crusader chassis were sometimes used as anti-aircraft mounts or artillery tractors.

The Crusaders biggest asset was always its speed,it could outpace almost anything it faced in the Desert, but this didn't always make up for its small gun and lack of armour.

Here are some Crusader variants.

The Crusader III fist used by Monty at El Alamain had a 6 pdr but it reduced the space in the turret so much, the tank could have a crew of only 3. The tank commander also had to be the gun loader.

If anyone just wants to beef up their K&c British European armour and dont want to pay the cost of the British #10 Sherman, then get the K&C US classic Sherman DD093, add a few British decals and a big red number from a decal kit in a hobby store. It's an early model Sherman but most people wouldn't know the difference anyway. :) Then you just need a few tankers and riders
