Couple of Russian castings (1 Viewer)

I'll second Mike, that's an excellent job on those figures!

Thanks for showing the castings before you painted them, too. It illustrates the quality of castings the Russians produce. I've got a number of castings bookmarked on eBay, some Seven-Years'-War and Revolutionary War figures that I haven't seen anywhere else. I'm reasonably certain that they aren't copies of someone else's work, either, and they're very reasonably priced. It's a good source for castings, provided, as I mentioned, that you make sure the figure isn't a pirate copy of someone else's work.

Do you have more queued up on the bench?

Prost!
Brad

Thanks for the compliments guys. It takes time and patient's along with good brushes ,and a set of magnifying glasses. You would know about that Mike because of all those great looking buildings and dioramas you build. You are right Brad, there are some great castings out there on Ebay* that you can pick up with out breaking the bank. I've been painting Crusaders lately for my Dio I have. K&C prices have been going up so I figured I would paint my own. If you look back in my post in December I picked up some really nice castings from a dealer in the Ukraine. Scale wise they match up well with the K&C figures. I put a couple of the K&C figures in the pictures to show that. Mike would know which ones because I know he collects them. I also have been painting up some Late Bronze age figures 1600-1250 BC Trojan War era period because none of the big TS*companies *out there produces them. Also now going to dabble into the Gladiators for the same reason. I just ordered some more off of Ebay, but it takes about 3-4 weeks*to get here, but by that time winter will be winding down and I'll save those for next winter to paint or a rainy day in the spring that I can't spend out doors.

Good painting, even more on so bad castings
See lot of air bubbles, casting lines, bad relief, globaly very poor quality, we are back to the 60ies . But cheap .

Best
