He was always dressing up as a woman or a pathan horse trader! Great stuff! Thanks for the link to the website. George MacDonald Fraser is, along with Rudyard Kipling, my favorite author.

Louis,

You're welcome! I haven't read his last three-esp. want to read Flashman on the March.

Kipling? By jingo, you sound like a dern imperialist!

Seriously though, have you read The Irish Guards in the Great War?(it was reprinted in the late 90s, I think). It's almost like reading a history of WWI on the Western Front. They say Kipling wrote it as a way of dealing with the death of his only son who was killed at age 18 near Loos while serving in the Guard's 2nd Bn.

Best,

Geoff

Dear Geoff,

I loved Flashman on the March, and would definitely recommend it. I haven't read "The Irish Guards in the Great War", but, as Kipling wrote it, I will have to get a copy. Thanks for the heads up.

Regards,

Louis

At the Chicago show every year there is a gentleman with really cool cowboy set ups, right down to two story interiors of saloons complete with gamblers and ladies of ill repute. Are these figures done by that gentleman?

Louis I have never been to the Chicago show. these figures are by Patrick wallis of Sarum soldiers UK. He is closing down at the end of the month. I would appreciate any info about the gentleman at Chicago if you can get them in Oct

Damian,

Will do! I don't remember what the name of this gentleman's company is, but I will find his information for you if I can.
