Hi Guys, after seeing some of the crusader stuff on TFT, I got interested in the era so this is a new project Ive started in my main display cabinet. Its the top shelf and fully lit, the shelves are glass so I decided to use a desert wargame matting for the ground base. The buildings are from JG but bought unassembled/unpainted and finished by me in the style I have chosen also there are a few modifications, I used a JG desert background. The figures are mainly Irregular painted by me, but I have a long way to go to fill out on figures, but lots of ideas and castings awaiting painting. Your comments would be appreciated.

The final picture shows some gate I scratchbuilt from plasicard and decided to add 2 arms from the otherside attempting to show saracens forcing entry through a weak point in the defences. The shrine and the well are Nemrod resin kits.

Great work - John! Is looks realy fantastic! :)

Where does the monk with the cross come from?

Very nice work, John. You're created a unique, one of a kind, crusades diorama. The dog by the big jars is a nice touch. Also, nice job on the mounted knights. Where did the original knights come from?

I look forward to following your diorama as it develops.

John,
You are a Master at painting, and this diorama further confirms that fact! No grovelling on my part, just stating the obvious. The buildings are truly magnifique! And so are the figures! Very enjoyable tojust view and wonder over
Mike!

Hello John,

Superb job, nice painting, really, really like.

Rod.

Hi John,
the painting of your JG castle and the custom work is very well done and looks beautiful.
While I like the figures too, I must say that I am too much caught by the "superior gloss" style you do.
Nevertheless this is going to be an eyecatcher and I am looking forward to see the display grow.

Very nice castle John. The tiled roof is excellent. I like those bowmen too.

I too look forward to more photos.

That is a very nicely done diorama. I have often wondered how JGM's Roman Fortress parts would look with Crusaders. Great job.
Mike

Great stuff, all the more so because you did it all yourself. I love the touch of the Saracen arms trying to dig through your (very nicely built) scratch gate. Looking forward to seeing more scenes of this dio as it continues to develop...
