Crusaders and Romans (1 Viewer)

Louis:

You are welcome.

Look forward to seeing you and your collection in New York during the March event. KMW is a great german Company & has many Armor Products. I am trying to get them to send me some leopard models - these you can fit in your office.

Let me know if you ever need anything from Washington..

Thanks for the welcome. It has been great talking with all my fellow King & Country fanatics.

Yes - the 1/30 scale pyramid might be a little large  - but, isnt thats what backyards are for???? :D

Hey Guys:

On a new Roman Line - what about having some Senator Figures? or a Roman Calvary Figures?? - Expand out that way?

Hi Louis,

Ha! :D I was a bit conservative when I said I could not get a 1/30 scale pyramid through my doorway because I did not do the math to determine the exact scaled size of one of the pyramids at Giza. It might help Ron to know that you live in a three story house!

On a more serious note, however, I could see some sort of backdrop that presented the pyramids in the distant background.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Yes, I was thinking if you played with the perspective in your set up you could have small replica pyramids in the background, but a backdrop poster would work too. I'll have to tell John Gittins of JG Miniatures there is interest in an addition to his background poster line:) .

Hi Shannon,

When you have time, let us know what John says about a possible background poster. Assuming he favorably considers the idea, it will be interesting to see what he designs!

Thanks for communicating with John for us!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

As Emperor Charlemagne had a war elephant (white) from 798 to 810 (a gift from caliph Harun al-Rashid) and as Emperor Frederick II came back in Europe (from the Sixth Crusade) also with a war elephant, it would be a great set for that serie but I am not an expert and it could be historically inaccurate.

Pierre.

Maybe we could expand the Knights with more banner troops - the ones that Andy did on this first run was great. Also some asscessories - palm trees? camels? jars? blankets? Tents?

More DEAD knights - for battle scenes would be nice.......

All great ideas, especially the accessories.

Pierre:

Elephants would be very very cool.

Maybe some Christian Pilgrims ?? or how about captured Kinghts by the Saracens - that could be cool too :D

I have to agree with you that the war elephant is a great idea. The last K & C elephant (and only one?) was in the Silk Road series.

I have never read about it, but it is possible that the Saracens used them during the crusades. The Persian Empire (Ghaznavid era) did employ war elephants at the time of the early crusades, and as Pierre mentioned, Frederick II had one.

To anyone who has the Silk Road elephant, I was wondering if the whole thing was metal or if just the figures were metal?

Ken

Ken,

There were two versions of the K&C Silk Road Elephant. The first was all metal, the later one was polystone with metal fittings.

Here we go again but, A war Elephant would be a great and unique "Strictly Limited " item.

Can we talk about ROME !!!!

We need new Roman Figures - Who Agrees ???

Its time for the Empire to Expand. Especially - now - with the new HBO Rome series on - Hail Ceasar! :D

I think my decision has been made tonight - there will be a fight for ROMAN POWER in my cases. I plan to pit my King & Country Romans against my Conte Romans - a fight to the death for the control of ROME.

Andy - if you are out there - send more reinforcements............
