Thanks Mitch,

Templar was right - not a huge release, but a good one. I really like Ambush, especially since it is another mounted Templar. These new figures will all fit perfectly within my diorama. I already know where they will each be placed. Andy mentioned a Saracen archer on a camel. Perhaps that one will follow shortly.

I cannot find reference to Sir Archibalt Douglas fighting in the Crusades....

Glad you guys got some Crusaders, they look very nice to me:cool:

Rob

To late in the day for me to collect them properly. I have four all with the st george cross depicted and, solely for that reason but, they are very colourful well painted and designed so, I can see why people grumble about their none inclusion in dispatches. I am sure more will follow
Mitch

Everything looks great...I especially like Sir Archibalt Douglas...those "hearts" look cool...

Thanks for the link, Michael. Worked just fine. I love the outfit of Sir Archibald Douglas. He looks like he'd be right at home in New York City on the Fourth of July, singing the Star Spangled Banner. I guess we Americans weren't all that unique with our flag, after all.

I just figured out that Sir Archibald Douglas was the greeeeeat, greeeeeat, greeeeeat grandfather of Captain America. The outfit hasn't changed all that much through the centuries, although Captain America's modern-day shield is circular.

All kidding aside, I really do especially like the outfit of Sir Archibald Douglas. He'll add color and interest to my diorama and will certainly be one of my favorite knights. That guy would steal the show on any battlefield.

they listed his name as Archibalt...I wonder if that's a mistake...

The Spoils of War Knight has a big price on him...$109...

Could be as a Google search comes up as Archibald. Perhaps whoever did the website misunderstood Andy's Scottish accent.

How can the vignette be only $30 more than the mounted Belgian?

I think the Templar Ambush group is priced reasonably, especially since it is such a nice trio. The other mounted knight does seem to be a bit pricier, considering it is a single figure. However, the Saracen Standard Bearer was pricier than the other individual mounted Saracens. I'm sure the flags/banners raise the price somewhat. The foot knight is also a bit pricier than the previous K&C similar offerings. The King & Country Medieval Crusades figures are now closer to the same price point as the First Legion Crusades figures. I wonder how much the FL mounted Crusders will sell for. I expect there should also be some of those showing up in the near future. It will be interesting to compare prices. I'll buy reasonably priced 54mm mounted Templar Knights from any manufacturer, as long as they are done well and they are priced within reason. The Ambush group is a definate "must have" for my diorama.

nysoldier,

The only reference to Sir Archibald Douglas that I can find is a knight who lived from 1297-1333. Supposedly the King & Country Medieval line covers 1297-1204. But who's going to know any of that, when they admire your figure. Hmmmmm.
