I started this poll to see what interests other collectors have in the MK series. I also wanted to see if I could create a poll -

Mike

I listed civilians and non-combatants because I thought it would fit in well with dioramas depicting the savagery of the times; ie: Christian pilgrims being attacked by Saracens, or Arab caravans being attacked by Crusaders. I would really like to see more archers, especially mounted Saracen light cavalry and Saracens mounted on camals. So much could be done with casualty figures also, such as leaning over city walls that are under attack. Although I just recently started collecting this series it has quickly become my favorite.

I love the crusader series and I'm saving up to get some:D

Great idea for a poll. I do plan on getting this series and voted several times as well.;):D

as for me, i wish there will be a special historic set -

the scene (if what i read in my youth was true) - 3rd crusade -

Richard 'Lionheart' sat opposite Saladin, playing chess.

A psychological battle of sizing one's enemy, masked as a harmless chess game, before the actual battle, in turbulent times.

:)

I just started this series earlier in the year and it is fantastic! Couldn't resist voting for pretty much all of the choices. Wouldn't mind some foot Templars as well.

Sounds good to me Nasir.

Yes, great suggestion. Would also like some more knights, especially those fighting ground troops.

I think this would make a fantastic subject for a strictly limited set. Great idea.

That would make an extraordinary set without a doubt.
Superb suggestion.
Hope it gets to open ears!

I see that you have historical miniature kits. Are they all 90mm? I had some kits of Templars but sold and traded them off, they were 54mm.did you paint them yourself?
Mark

Mark,

I posted a couple more figures I have this evening. These are 90mm kits. One is 120mm. I contacted Niena Studios in St Petersburg, Russia several years ago told them which kits I wanted them to assemble and paint for me. Then I did a bunch of research on heraldry and told them exactly what I wanted. I even sent them pictures of the horses I wanted painted. They were great to work with. I can't imagine how much these figures would cost now since the US dollar has fallen so far since then. They sell them based on the Euro. I bet the pieces would cost double to have done now.

Thank you guys for the nice comments.

Darrell

Darrell,
I have Historical miniatures too but mine are 54mm.I have mostly Vikings but am having a couple of French and Indian vignettes coming.I also have El Cid,Historical Dracula and a couple of pirates that look like Captains Sparrow and Barbossa.I usually buy the kits and when I can afford it I send them to George Grasse (www.histomin.com) in Virginia. He is very good and pretty reasonable compared to some others.

Thanks for the link Mark. I have bookmarked his website for future reference. I just checked Niena Studios website and they have some of my pieces listed on the site with the prices. They are almost double what I paid for my pieces! The US dollar is a mess right now.

How about posting some pics of your collection on your forum page? I would like to see them. Especially the Vikings.

Darrell

Darell,
I hate to say this but I don't have a clue how to put pictures on the forum.I don't even have a camera. You can see some of my figures if you go on the Grasse website, click on historical period, then click on Dark Ages, click on El Viejo Dragon, scroll down until you come to Olaf Tryggvason's longship. This is mine.Go back to manufacturer click on Pegaso, click on 54mm foot figures, the first figure a Rus Viking. He painted one of these for me but not this one.Now scroll down to 54mm vignettes and the one PG5V18,Vikings 880 is mine.My favorite is in the Seil section SM5032,2 Vikings after a battle.I have the other Viking in that section too.I have 7 or 8 more Viking figures and vignettes from Andrea,Romero,Benito. He has a couple of FIW vignettes from Michael Roberts miniatures he's doing for me now.
