Hi Guys,
First of all, apologies for the delay in the release of the next figures in this series…
Here’s what happened…
As many of you know K&C is always on the lookout for additional factories and quite a few months back we thought we had found a good one… We visited them up north… we inspected their premises… saw their staff at work… looked carefully through their showroom… gave them a little trial project… got the very nice result back… So far… So good!
“OK, let’s give these guys a few of the new Crusaders”, we said. A few weeks later the counter samples came back… “Excellent” We said, “Here’s the production order!”
Just about two months afterwards they contact us “Your order is ready!” “Fine”, we replied, “We will send our Quality Control Team immediately”.
QC Team duly visit the factory and call back HQ in HK rapidly. “Hong Kong, we have a problem!”
Turns out the work is seriously flawed… Excessive shrinking in the castings and lousy painting. Double Whammy!
Seems their original painting supervisors (who were excellent) got a better offer from another factory and then from their new location “poached” all the best painters!!!
Anyway, to cut a long story short… We pulled the entire job and gave it to one of our more reliable factories. And so it should appear in February.
See what happens when you try to widen the circle of your friends!!!
Oh well, c’est la vie… c’est la guerre.
Apologies again guys especially to the MK collectors.
Andy C.
