Greeting Gents
Have been busy painting other stuff but I thought I'd show these figures by Russian maker Engineer Basevich the paintbrush as I have had them for over a year. Nice sculpts as usual, only a couple of things, first the figure with grenade in hand and thomson on his back has no visible sling, so I added one using a bit of milliput. Secondly I don't like figures without bases so I added one to each of the kneeling figures.

Very well done !

Thank you.

Yes Mike your painting skills have a knack of bringing the figures to life. :salute::, Robin.

The ONLY BUMMER about this set is that I wish there was an apposing army!
The Cuban Army and Police??

Plastic General

Have to pick this set up - been meaning to do it for a while (being from Miami, it's one of my favorite subjects).

As far as opponents go, I'm wondering if the Airfix mulitpose U.S. Marines with the helmets could serve as Batista's troops?

How about some sort of Africans from different makers or jungle fighters--maybe Airfix or Gung Ho Australians--to represent various African wars that the Cubans fought in?

From what I've seen those soldiers mostly wore Soviet gear. You might be able to customize Russian figures in Afghanistan with camo paint jobs.
