Has anyone on this Forum ever bought something from www.greystoneonlinehistory.com ?
They advertise old retired King and Country sets in the Miniatures section but I don't know if they still have them because they say they are undergoing some changes.

Could someone please assure me they still have them and it is ok to order from them?

There are several dealers that have old listings up on the internet.

I believe you will find these items no longer are available, and this

information is only good for pictures of the items, and original prices.

They used to have a great toy soldier shop in Gettysburg, but the owner lost interest in figures and went back to an exclusive book and video shop......Michael

Arnhem44mad,

There are about 20 or so websites out there that haven't been updated in years, whether due to the shop relinquishing its dealership or just lack of maintenance. (Many small retailers see the web as an advertising tool, and are not particularly IT-literate - they need external help to maintain the site and it can sometimes be too much trouble for fast-changing inventories such as that offered by K&C). Retired K&C will often draw people in, and if an order is then placed it can always be partially fulfilled with the currently-available items. Not an ideal dealer strategy but it has happened in the past.

Use Bill Sager's website for reference, as it's clearly marked and you know what you can order. Some other websites may have an item or two but they are usually only of interest for a slightly different camera angle on a retired item. Of the others besdies Greystone which feature retired K&C have a look (or more properly, perhaps ignore) the following sites:

Thank you all for your information. I'll just have to try for the WS Winter Gun somewhere else.

You usually will have the opportunity to add that piece to your collection

about 1/2 dozen times a year on Ebay. The Panther in the winter series has

been up 3 or 4 times and I believe the Winter Tiger has made 1 appearance in

2006.

I can't seem to find it. Could you give me the link to that direct page?

John may be referring to a winter Pak 40 (WS 18) that just showed up on ebay last night.

I'd rather have the 88. As far as what it's going to cost you, they're probably comparable. However, you won't get a crew with the 88. Those are extra. There were two sets, also both retired.

Send me a private mail or e-mail tony@kingandcountry.co.uk and send me your wish list!!

I know your new to Treefrog but also to K&CUK and you may not be aware that Mike Neville (my dad) has a stash of a lot of old K&C. Its always worth sending us a mail for what your after!!

If we dont have it now we always buy in old collections and there may be what your after in that. Please be aware that the second hand market is very very good at the moment.

regards

Tony Neville

If you're looking for a K & C Winter 88 or Pak 40, $200 won't make it. For a Winter 88 you need to start thinking way north of $500. If it's a Pak Gun, start thinking about $300.

What section of KaC do you collect?
I collect world war 2 - D-Day, Arnhem and Battle of Bulge.

Everything except the Iwo Jima range. Doesn't do anything for me, no offense to anyone else.

Yes, I do. I started this year with only one Arnhem set, the Daimler, and have added about six sets since then.

How can you not love the Arnhem range? Its the very first K&C matt WWII, and has wonderful wood and metal vehicles (30 Corps Sherman, Bren Gun Carrier, Cromwell Tank, original wood Para Jeep, Recce Jeep, Ambulance Jeep, Attack Jeep, Supply Trailer), some of the most innovative polystone vehicles (Bren Gun Carrier, Daimler Armored Car) and great diorama materials (backlot buildings, Arnhem Bridge Diorama, original Arnhem Village Diorama), not to mention the incredible 1:30 scale Horsa Glider. I can't wait to see the paras revisited in today's level of quality.

What other sets do you have?
I have AN001 Battle for the Bridge and AN08 Mortar Team.

There are two Arnhem sets on King and Country Live bid:
AN13 The Defenders
AN08 The Mortar Team
