D-Day Paratroopers (2 Viewers)

Yeah, you're probably right. I fell down the stairs last night (nothing broken fortunately) so I'm a little curt today.

Sorry to hear that Brad, are you ok?.

Rob

...and who says Michael doesn't have a sense of humor?

Rob, I'm fine thanks. I was heading downstairs with a bowl and my son asked me a question and I didn't see the blankety blank cat lying in the middle of the stairs so I stepped on him and proceeded to fall down, bouncing off each step until I hit the bottom and the bowl went flying as did I. My back and neck hurt a little but nothing serious but I was fortunate.

BTW, my friend emailed about the Imperial War Museum, as follows:

"They [her sons] really enjoyed it and so did I. I think their favorite thing was the submarine exhibit which had those points where one could smell what it smelled like in the submarine and how they checked for lack of oxygen (mice in little cages). They also liked the WWI trench and the "blitz experience." We did not do the Holocaust because my youngest is only 8. It was a lot of fun and I wished we had more time. I see what you were raving about and I would love to go back. It's a lot to see in one trip."

Brad, glad your ok,could have been nasty.I'm glad your friends had a good time at the IWM it is a great museum,i've been taking the tours for seven years now and i never get bored!

Rob,

Yes, it could have been and I was lucky.

For people like us, the IWM is Mecca.

Hey, guys. I'm also in the market for DD034. It's a 4 man bazooka team (although I think there are only 3 paratroopers, the other guy is from a regular infantry unit). Both 34 and 36 are discontinued. If you know anyone who has either, please let me know. Other than that, how is everyone?

I am originally from Minnesota and I moved back home after graduating. Prior to that I was in the USN. When I retired, I went to ODU to finish up my degree. I spent about 5 years in the Tidewater area. Really is a great place to live. I do occassionally miss the area, but you know how the old home town seems to have a strong attraction.

odugrad:

You should try LEE's HEADQUARTERS in Fredricksburg, VA - Blaine the owner has WWII K&C and I believe I saw DD34 in his case last week. I dont think he has the DD36.

I have a DD 32 - that I am selling if you are interested.

I didn't know blanks could leave marks

Blanks are still deadly , especially artillery blanks so stay clear of the muzzle or their wont be anything left unmarked and more than likely parts unattatched!

I always liked those Dday Paras by the way.

Do you think will do another set of the 101st or 82nd - along with the British Paras??

Ron,I don't think so.I spoke to Andy in London and he said he felt he'd done the US Paras to death. So maybe none for a while.
