Sorry to disagree Chris but the Combat Infantry Badge is the most respected badge in the US Army. The others are for specialized training these are issued for the real deal. IMO

No apologies necc- certainly Col Hackworth said several times that his CIB was his most treasured decoration on his uniform. A lot of people would certainly agree with you and I am by no measure arguing that one- I certainly cannot find any plausible reason to say otherwise. I do know that in the grunt units I was in, the CIB had lost a bit of its luster post ODS.

Now, they've got the Combat Action Badge or whatever it is- I think certain awards should be the mainstay of the combat arms branches and the rest of the REMFs should let it be. I fully support the wearing of the CIB and even the Combat medic badge- a lot of folks got pretty fired up with the Combat Action Badge that came about with the GWOT- and from everything I have gathered, most of the troops don't wear it even though they are authorized to- shows the measure of respect the rest of the Army has for the CIB, imo.
