Troops:

Sorry for creating the "firestorm." As I said it is a great piece, very detailed and a beauty.The model now sits with the rest of my collection and it blends well with with KC AK series. I'll keep it for now and see how it will hold over time in terms of parts falling off like plastic models.

N-P

N/P...Not likely for any parts to fall off unless you attack it with "dirt bombs" or "firecrackers" in the backyard during a simulated battle..^&grin.....This is really a beautifully detailed model......... however your choice.....weight does not matter much and a resin model is actually less likely to break then polystone (a cheaper material) which can easily fracture.... Best Frank

i'll never understand exactly why the weight of an item translates to it's value.

seriously, just because something is light doesn't make it "cheap". in fact, there are times when the weight of an item is used to distract from lack of quality. "feels hefty - must be worth it"

It's funny because if you're building an airplane or a race car light weight is seen as a good thing and I guarantee you it is anything but cheap.

I suspect the whole weight thing is more about feeling solid and sturdy vs. light and fragile.

One big issue on this hobby is aging, people is too old with old traditional habits{sm3}{sm2}

Just a quick note - it is not plastic, there is no plastic whatsoever in the 232. It is 100% resin (NOT "polystone", which is basically resin with stone powder filler added to it) with copper detailing for the aerial. As an FYI, polystone is an inexpensive material, hence why many companies use it. Resin, as we've used, is much more detailed and expensive. I would advise you not to confuse "weight" with "value"!

Anyway, put it on shelf and look at it and hopefully you'll appreciate it for what it is not for what it isn't!

Best,

Matt

Matt . . ., I have no doubt that your Armor line is quite good. . .

But I'd like to see them myself, " up close ".

And there's the rub . . I've been going to the toy shows up here in MASS ( Burlinton Show ) for a couple of years now hoping to see some Armor and I've only seen the Winter Pz.III at Georges table at the show. . .

I'm not going to get into the " arrangement " you have with George about showing your good through him but I'd say it's not working out to good because of your end. . .^&confuse. I'm not saying I want to purchase through George, though that would be good, but where can anyone see your items in person?

Can you please do something about that so your items can be seen through George. I mean after all George goes to A LOT of shows but your items a few a far between. I really would like to purchase your items but again, " I need to see what I'm buying " first.

I'm not trying to start anything . . .just an honest question. {sm4}

I agree with you on this one. For the price point, we could make more honest not perceived assessments of your product if we could touch and feel them more easily. I see George some 3 times a year and though he has figures, your vehicles are no-shows...Michael

First Legion Grey Panzer III : "The Battle of the Back-Porch Deck":salute:: What you see is what you get...no surprises...Well done First Legion: www.firstlegionltd.com

I must say and assure you in all honesty, that I have not been disappointed yet...The First Legion Website accurately depicts the product..Excellent detail/Painting..(Not achievable with polystone)...The (grey) Panzer III is my favorite;and the Stalingrad Tank Riders are a must have....Super product.....I hope they will soon produce Tigers for the Eastern Front.

Personally, I like the fact that FL AFV’s weigh less than their Polystone counterparts (admission – I don’t own any FL AFV’s) … It means I could put more in my glass curio cabinet, without the constant fear of it coming crashing down!!! :wink2:

I'm replying with my own quote because I really want an answer ( solution ) to my question to Matt and not see this, just get buried.

I have good reason. . .to want to see FL armor at these toy shows.

Just how hard would it be for Matt to maybe " loan " product out to George for the sole purpose of viewing the product at these shows . .^&confuse

Of course I think George should be compensated for lugging around & displaying FL products. . . . . . . .
Matt :confused:

I would highly encourage you to send Matt an email at this address info@firstlegionltd.com . He is a very nice guy and takes time to answer most emails personally . From past experience of reading just about every post on the First Legion thread almost two years now I would say you have no chance in getting an answer on this forum with a (question) demand like this .
If you have seen the Winter Panzer III in person, your doing a lot better then anyone that I know who collects First legion's Vehicles and AFV's and it hasn't stopped them or me for that matter from buying . Their reputation for standing behind their product is second to none and the customer service is fantastic you really can't go wrong with direct order . If you "really want an answer ( solution ) to your question to Matt " I really feel your going about it the wrong way ..........Regards Gebhard

Actually, I must say that I own near a hundred if not more FL figures, naps and samurais. If anybody travels to Montreal, I'll be more than happy to let you enjoy them at my own house. I have no afvs however :)

IXEC if you'll be in Brooklyn i'll gladly show you my displays , I have couple of AFV's , Stalingrad and a lot of NAP's {sm3}
Just let me know

I have what some may see as a silly question, but it has a point. What is the function of the four aerials on each corner of the vehicle? Would one ever be missing? My cat decided to hide a rear aerial before I could affix it with glue, and I was wondering what to do. Thanks in advance for any help. :salute::

Ask FL if you can get a spare - they may have one. Or buy the FL figure with the flamethrower and have him interrogate the cat

Those are markers to identify the corners of the vehicle when driving in confined spaces.

I think this is very good advise.

And if you are in the Philly area .... I do have some of FL's AFVs. :redface2:

I'll echo Gebhard & wonder aloud as to why Treefrog moderaters &/or owner are protecting IXEC? This was obviously a troll.

No one is protecting IXEC, he raises a very valid question. There was no nasty undertones in his questioning so I do not see a problem with the post remaining.
