DAK in the Land of the Pharaohs (1 Viewer)

Patton's fault! 😂

Otherwise, they would have definitely bathed in it!

Monty couldn't have stopped them alone, in my opinion...
Is this 'artistic license' too?

First Battle of El Alamein (1–27 July 1942) - Monty stops advance to Nile

Second Battle of El Alamein (23 October – 11 November 1942) - Monty defeats the AK who retreat all the way to Tunisia

Operation Torch (8–16 November 1942) - Patton gets his feet wet

There are many things the British thank the USA for but stopping Rommel's advance to the Nile is not necessarily one of them.

The facts seem to suggest that Monty not only stopped them but pushed them back as well, before Patton even arrived.

You sometimes have to love US history lessons .......

Mike a fun diorama and we know that you are aware of the actual history.

History bends to the narrative of the times and those in control, currently they're saying that Septimius Severus, Emperor of Rome, who did come from Africa.... North Africa.... was Black... Nope, history is being twisted and the children of today are being fed lies, much as DeGaulle spun his own web of truth of France from restaurents.

Yeh Steve, I am aware of the actual history. I'm just using all things desert at my disposal to have a little bit of fun and enjoy the hobby. I haven't done anything with these FL DAK sets for years. It was nice to use them in a quick display and wonder what if they had . . . 😜

I also understood that and hope you don't think I was criticising you. I like the diorama and fully applaud your scenario.

All the best. Kevin
