Had the pleasure of meeting Sqn Ldr Les Munro and George "Johnny" Johnson at a Dambusters/617 Sqn event over the last weekend. Truly remarkable guys.

Squadron Leader John Leslie (Les) Munro CNZM, DSO, QSO, DFC,(light blue cardigan) (born 5 April 1919) is the last surviving pilot of the Dambusters Raid of May 1943.

Squadron Leader George "Johnny" Johnson, was the bomb-aimer aboard Joe McCarthy’s aircraft, AJ-Q. he scored a direct hit on the Sorpe dam on his 10th fly past.

I know K&C have previously Op CHASTISE ac/crew, but I wonder if they are to commemorate the anniversary with anything else?

Deepest respects to these RAF heroes today and to all their comrades who lost their lives that night.

Thanks Neil glad you like it, cool isn't it.

Rob

yes Rob very good . Interesting that when they made the film the Dambuster the bouncing bomb was still on the secret list and that reason why it look wrong in the film .Shame that Gibson was lost later in the the war as well when flying Mosquitos
