Guys

Whilst melting some pellet resin for a river bed (Woodland Scenics E Z Water) i accidently spilt the metal dish onto my hand and p[ored the boiling resin down my finger.

I now have 3rd degree burns over my left fore finger and inside my middle finger. Was very lucky as i shot upstairs and ran under as much water as possible which my doctor says it helped. I have narrowly missed a skin graft as my blood supply has come back and the cells will manage on their own but i will have a life long scare on my hand.

Lets say it hurt some what and this stuff is ment to be OK for over 14's!!

Tony

Tony,

Sorry to hear that. Fortunately it was not worse. I guess the scar will be a painful reminder of that episode.

Cheers,

Tony...

Nasty stuff but, glad to hear that there will be no permanent damage. A good strong pair of gloves in future is a must as its wicked stuff. My one accident with similar ended up in a new carpet and severe ear ache from my better half
Mitch

Tony,
Hope your ok. Nasty stuff by the sound of it and I agree with Mitch that a pair of gloves is a necessity. I had a bit of an issue with a hot melt glue gun some years ago, why do you think I get you to make my terrain boards!:D

Ouch!

Now that you have a cool scar, you'll have to come up with a great story as to how you got it! Saying you burned yourself because you were clumsy will never do...I'd say the best story involves swordfighting...

Yes, sounds much bette,r and you were fighting seven of them!!!!

Guys

the latest to my injury from fighting Aliens with my lazer gun / being dum when making a dio, is that i have 3rd degree burns and now need 6 - 8 weeks of physio and my hand will be dressed every week. And left with a burn scar for the rest of my days!!

It said on the packet must have adult supervision if under 14!! Dispatch dave no watches over me!

A heat gun and some extra thick embossing powder works in exactly the same way and, causes no harm like this. The only upside is it could have been a lot worse.
Take care
Mitch

Photos mate. We know you've got them and a picture tells a thousand words.;)
Have to say, having seen the end results of hot stuff vs. skin, kudos to Tony for picking up a particularly impressive war wound. Far better than my scalpel damage.

Only just found this thread, hope you are on the mend now Tony, sounds very nasty indeed.

Rob

I can not imagine...I hope you are doing better. My condolences. I hope that you take a long rest, and that your soldiers give you some moral support:). All the best,
Sandor

Battle wound! Sorry about that!!

A hot glue gun can really be a dangerous weapon...I have burned my hands so may times and it sticks and smears like Napalm...instant blister...

Dear Tony:

Gosh, I did not realize that making dioramas could be a hazzard to your health! In my "harbor area" of my K&C Street's of Old Hong Hong circa 1900 display I just have a light blue peice of felt placed down to represent the water of the harbor. I believe I'll pass on being anymore realistic than that based on your bad episode noted above.
