Pulling up at the Oasis the Scout car comes to a halt. the crew jump out one to answer the call of nature the Officer to talk to the Arab traveller.
The Arab seems shifty avoiding giving straight answers and his constant glances at the basket of dates sets alarm bells off with the Officer who starts to draw his revolver, when the Arab stabs him with a small knife he'd concealed in his hand and tosses an incendiary grenade into the scout car setting it on fire.
The badly wounded Officer shoots the Arab dead as his driver rushes to the scene dragging him from the raging fire.
After doing his best to bind the Officers wound, the Officer tells the driver to carefully inspect the contents of the basket, finding under the dates a working two way radio. With this their luck has changed and are able to contact their base to report and arrange a pick up.

It's great to read that kind of stories … you're a really good writer too, you know that? :)

Cheers

Enrico :salute::

Enricoquinto beat me to it .... I always love a "story"behind the diorama.

Now you have to continue it. Will they get help? Is there a book in the basket that lists the German codes?
Will the Krauts come looking for their informant?

Inquiring minds need to know!

Nice scene and nice tie in to the story line.

Thanks guys. I wasn't planning a part 2, so next time I have a desert set up I'll do none !

Good imagination Steve with this intriguing story. I will never view a basket of dates in the same light again.^&grin, Robin.

HaHaHa ! As a kid dates only appeared in the house at Christmas and certainly didn't come with radio transmitters ! :wink2:
