David Bowie has passed away (1 Viewer)

I saw Bowie in concert several times. Always great but the highlight was sometime back in the late 90s when he came to a place called the Capital Ballroom in DC. At that time Bowie was selling out football stadiums but this place held less than a thousand people. You could stand in front of the stage, go grab a drink at the bar and listen to Bowie playing just a few feet away. Pretty amazing in retrospect. When I was a kid Elvis came to the old Capital Center where the Bullets played. For some reason we didn't go even though my mom was a big fan. Always regretted that. Lesson learned though. Life is short and these opportunities are fleeting.
The Capital Ballroom, what a blast from the past. Located near the Navy Yard in SE DC. I never went there, but I knew lots who did. I think my daughter and son saw the Ramones there. Not a good part of town after dark.:rolleyes2: -- Al
