This has been amazing to watch over the last few months!

Now if you use e-bay then surly you have a computer and surly if your looking on ebay for K&C then you know where to find K&C outside of Ebay!!!

so

Ebay = Computer = Ebay = K&C Search = Buy item (over priced!!)!! i get that but why does it not work out like this

Computer = K&C SEARCH = find K&C wherever= best price from reputable dealer!

Is it only me but when i buy something i look around......at the shops or on the computer. for example I search ebay and find the DD65 British Sherman i would say ohh i like that i wonder how much it used to sell for or is it still available???

I would then use my computer to search for it!!! MINUTES of my time. I would then find Oh look its on K&C UK for £89.95!!! now i know i can get it there for that price i know i will put a max bid on with the ebay dude for £70 save myself a few quid...........NOW is that me or is that too logical!!! bid goes over my maximum i go hey how ill get it from K&C UK

In the last few weeks the DD65 has sold for £95 - £150 each time.... yes £150...... I STILL HAVE 7 in STOCK!!! as everybody is rightly saying with K&C being a 'bought for product' the price of current stock items WILL NOT go up and therefore you are bagging a bargain compared to the current forced up price of the newer stuff.

So what i am saying i cannot understand people that buy from ebay at a price that is higher than the RRP of ANYTHING!!!!! i use ebay all the time and i do when i am looking for an item BELOW the RRP!!!!

oh and yeah i really only have 7 (oops make that 6) DD65 in stock all with the K&CUK certificate. And yes they are at the normal RRP of £89.95!!! unless you want to pay £150!!:)

And anybody wanting time share in Buckingham palace i have 30 rooms available starting at $100 per week!!! please contact me at tonywilhaveyoureysout.com:D

Got to agree with you there.Paying £150 instead of £89 is fruit loop city centre in my view.I'll take one room at Buck house,as long as its not next to Her Maj as i hear she snores a lot.;)

Absolutely,if you just spend some time searching you can get money off almost anything. And look at that saving on your camera case, incredible difference.

Hope you have a ball in Florida,we went a couple of years back and its heaven for us kids who never grew up.And don't even get me started on the Cheesecake!!!:eek::)

Tony, Rob,
In the words of PT Barnum, there is a sucker born every minute and ebay really allows the realization of that saying! Knowledge is power, yet there are so many who don't take the time or have the know how to acquire same.

Tom

Seldom have I found bargains on e-bay especially regarding toy soldiers......but I have seen much attempted exploitation; it would be wrong to say that the majority of sellers use e-bay to manupuliate prices. Also no one is forcing buyers to purchase products at inflated prices......Therefore,...."Buyers Beware" do your homework before purchasing on e-bay........regards to all Vezzolf

Tony - If I were you - I would put one of the British Shermans on Ebay ! It helps get the word out on your shop - many people really don't know where to look - or here in the US - don't even know about K&C UK or even EBAY UK.

By listing the pieces people see your description and in that you can mention your shop and website.

Just a thought ? I know several dealers who use Ebay quite effectively.

Also - On another note - I HAVE FOUND GREAT DEALS ON EBAY WITH TOY SOLDIERS - don't kid yourself in thinking there are not deals. There are plenty overpriced stuff too - but, every now & then - a real winner will present itself for sure. :D

I still stand by my previous statement in another thread that there are a lot of people new to the internet. I am amazed everyday by the silly questions I get asked (I think to myself, are you for real???) I make suggestions on a daily basis and frequently get what is that site for? There is a wealth of info out there for the taking, you just have to take the time and browse for it, and some folk don't know what they are doing or are scared of the internet.

I guess maybe for some older folk who've had little or no experience of the internet it could be a little daunting, its just a question of getting used to it.Bit like our Labour government!!;)

Only a timeshare. I rather fancied moving in :D

Seriously, I wasn't even aware you had 7 left. I assumed they were long gone. Is it prominently displayed on your site that you have it. Very nice tank for those who don't have it.

Agree with some people are scared...........but i guess dam lazy as well!!

As you say Brit it is all there and most of the time for the taking!!!

Ron i know what your saying, i sell on Ebay but you wont ever see me doing K&C on there. I have sold 494 DD65 happily with out it!

My only grief with K&C on ebay (not aimed at any dealers who use it as a tool) is when you are a dealer (as many of us are) who invest THOUSANDS in the hobby and drive all over pay all the government tax's etc. then you get some little S*"*T who sells out of their bedroom part time. With no tax or VAT being paid, and therefore can under cut. And gets a supply ummm funny that!!! I don't want my image mixed in with the fly by nighters!

I have staff premises and marketing to pay for!!

Good for customers who want no frills and cheap and risk i guess but should ask about their returns policy!!!

But my point was not about me wanting to do ebay as i say i do it..........its just why pay over the odds when its still out there!!

Also Ron agree with the outside USA thing infact it would be interesting to ask a few Americans if there is a world outside USA!!! Chris McKenna was telling me some very very funny story's (which i cannot put on here).

But any Google K&C search brings up K&C UK and we get dealer enquiries all the time and infact some people still think we ARE K&C!!!

By the way the rooms are going quick and Rob sorry cannot move you. your stuck next to Liz sorry. I can assure you that this is the safest room in any hotel!!:D

Its under the discontinued but available section on our site!!! Which is again where i would think most people looking for it would look. Dont want it on the main buying section with numbers so low!!

six now with another guy who funny enough just phoned me asking!! and very interestingly his dad was a driver!!! in WW2

Tony has a good point. People shop eBay because 1) they actually believe that they will get a "deal", 2) they aren't familiar with the internet (it is popwerful one-stop shopping) 3) they are looking for an "investment" 4) they don't understand the market that they are dealing in.

In "the old days" when eBay was fairly new you could get some great deals. My other hobby is model trains and I was able to get some of my Union Pacific locomotives at nice prices - often from stores that were outside the usual area of UP so they didn't have enough interest and had excess stock. Now everybody knows about eBay so there are far fewer great prices.

I am often amazed at people who don't just look at the market of their particular hobby and look at possibilities. They also don't factor in the ever-increasing costs of shipping. As a die-hard hobbyist I frequent my local model train store. I can get many items at a fair price at the local store and they don't hit me for the extra $10 shipping. They also give 10% off for special orders, so that neutralizes the local sales tax. Yet, I surf eBay and see people paying over retail for similar items because they just didn't look to see that it is a current item in the catalog and many dealers can get it for them. In the meantime the local hobby shop is going the way of the dinosaur.

Darn and I was ready to move too. Well, there goes a future K & C UK customer:D

Regarding people paying more than they have to, that's just a fact of life in many areas, not just collectibles. Some people just don't want to do their homework.

Unfortunately not everyone has access to a local hobby/toy soldier store. The nearest one to me is about a 3 hour drive. So ebay is a good option for me, everything under one roof and I guess I have to take the shipping costs on the chin although up until now they haven't really been all that bad.
