Didn't quite know what thread to put this on but slapped it on this one.

First pic is another Hinchcliffe 54mm metal I picked up at the London show. Pose OK but not really an accurate or realistic fall-rider looks somewhat stilted- reins, horses tail, canteen and other accoutrements much too static, arms, sword, kepi firmly on head-All wrong for a falling figure. Plus pretty poor paint finish with an odd looking color for a horse's mane and tail

Final finish- Horses tail more realistic, reins corrected, both arms of the trooper re-modelled with sword re-positioned, canteen and other bits more in motion for a fall, kepi flipped off with rider's hair dishevelled. Full paint job on rider and especially the horse.

Whoops!
Not sure if the rider or the horse is dead but the trooper now looks a bit more bemused than the original :)

Good God Reb, that is quite the figure you have there !!! It looks 100% better than the original. I take it this figure is metal also? If so resculpting that must ahve been quite the feat. Did you use a dremel to grind off unwanted parts? The horse also looks much better with it's new coat. I always shake my head when I see the grey horses with big black marks on their legs.

Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing this new mount (dis-mount :D ) in your diaries !!!

Really a nice job on that figure! How long did it take you to rework that figure?

Bob,

How did you do the new tail. Pretty amazing. When will we see him star in the Diaries?

As per the following shots- and he has already been signed up for a starring role in a future chapter of the diaries (Sole reason for buying the original in London ;))

Unbelievable, the amount of work you put into this figure:eek:

Where do you find the time:confused:

Really nice job!

Bob,

Very nice to see you have been busy. That is a fantastic change in a rather boring figure. This is a complete metamorphosis! Job well done. I did some Confederate Cavalry that i think you will like. Send a pic later.

Nice work Reb! Fun to find old castings and make them come to life!
Excellent work.Hats off!

Great improvement Reb. A lot of thought gone in to how the pose should be and excellently executed (so to speak!).
