In World War I, whole companies of men were assigned to burrow beneath enemy soliders, then blow them sky high.

It took 25 months to tunnel and mine the Messines Ridge. This was the biggest manmade explosion in history; 19 mines had been charged with almost a million pounds of explosives. ~7,000 German soliders were instantly killed. The blast was heard outside London, more that 100 miles away.

Thanks for the link. I had not heard of this company before and, have just spent a enjoyable 15 mins looking at their stuff. I particularly liked the taking cover set and, some nice kits.

Doesn't Peter Jackson the film director have something to do with WING NUT ? WING NUT FILMS?
I know he's a major WW1 History enthusiast and the Perry twins sculpted some amazing Gallipoli 54mm figures for him a while back.
I really like the taking cover set.

Peter co-founded Little Contemptibles which is the military miniature production arm of the parent company Wingnut Wings.

Sadly no.
These are the only two sets they have released, nothing new in well over a year.
Both sets are outstanding.

Really fantastic looking work. The dios look great and the pro built aircraft are the best. -- Al
