I am not much of a WW1 collector, have a few TG planes and most of the JJD WW1 British and German Ground Crews. However, i have admired the WW1 French range from JJD for a while and i decide to plunge in and buy some, they are excellent and good value for money. This together with there is, currently, a defined anount to collect and i think even with only the four sets i have they already are a striking looking group. Only looking at the marching and not those in action poses.

To those that collect this range i have a question? Do they work well with the K & C French WW1 marching sets?

The KC figures are slightly larger in overall proportions than JJD. KC matches up very well TGM WW1 French, while I find JJD matches up very well with the FL WW1 French. En masse, they will all mix decently well, in isolation, the size difference will show. -- Al

I would agree with Lancer here… The JJD WWI French are a great collection with a lot of variety. They’ve been around for a while and are still easy to find as well. You’ll need to get the Schneider CA-1, Saint Chamond or Renault FT-17 tanks to go with your growing collection, Barkmann.

I have some of the JJD WWI French, nice figures for sure. I bought them for a diorama I intend to make some day. I think they are a closer match sizewise and from a detail perspective to FL than to K & C, the latter of which is on the large side.

Yes this is a series I fully enjoyed, despite not being one I thought I would ever invest in. Robin.

Thanks Guys for the comments and advice, would like, and will probably get at some point, the WW1 French armoured vehicles, but first i want to concentrated on the retreating wounded French troops. i think they are excellent and make a great dramatic grouping. As with most things it depends on availability and price, if a tank comes up on ebay etc then i will grab it, but will first concentrate my funds to the figures.

I was drawn to the wounded and retreating French soldiers too and agree that they are excellent.
