Danscott welcome to the forum. I enjoyed viewing your Detail figures and painting. I have a collection of Detail along with other plastic figures which I enjoy painting. I also collect painted Britains and other metal figures. Leadmen

Hi, danscott, and welcome to the forum! Thanks for sharing pictures of your work.

What sort of paints are you using, eg, enamels or acrylics, oils, etc?

Prost!

Welcome to the forum. I have several WB WWII dee-tail repaints that I will post. Ironically I found today that there is a company in Argentina that has re-issued the dee-tail series both painted and unpainted. I would love to see pictures of your individual Foreign Legion figures. This is a new subject of interest to me. I grew up in the 50s and loved Captain Gallant of the Foreign Legion when it was on TV with Buster Crabbe and Fuzzy Knight.

i just use the games workshop (warhammer?) paints,i spray a white undercoat ,this is 20 aussie bucks a can which can get a bit exspensive at times ,but its yet to fail on anything i undercoat, apart from A.I.P. it seems to have a bit of trouble sticking on parts of these figs especialy in the nooks and cracks.there pots are around 4to5 bucks and i thin when painting with water, the bonus with these water based paints is they dry quick.

Hi

most of the Deetail range can be still purchased either from Britains (now made in China of course) or the sets made in Argentina by DSG.

The missing sets still not accounted for are the Waterloo foot and cavalry sets plus the Apache Indians foot and mounted and the Scots Guards. Does anyone know of the whereabouts of the moulds as its been a bit of a mystery for some years.

There is a story that they went to the USA with the moulds for the Guards figures

Any Sherlock Holmes on stateside have any elementary deductions or answers??

hussar i also wonder what happend to the 8th army vickers gun set --acw gatling gun set, would be great to find out,if they rereleased them might might bring the price down on the originals.even though it doesnt seem to affected the mounted mexicans at times.
i cant bring myself to spend big money on any of the original FFL,MEXICANS,ARABS,etc ,since they have all been rereleased by dsg.

Hi
yes I utilise the Airfix multipose spare parts and they just superglue straight to the Deetail figures fixed solid - no pinning required.
