I couldnt find the thread where I had buried this piece. Got it from Spain for about 10 Euros for my shelf. However, Ive been looking at it and wondering how static the pose was. This is absolutely uninspired sculpting I hate to say.

So Ive decided to at least change one of the horse legs. Here it is.

This is it for this round of WIP. Im off to Tokyo for hols and will post when I get back in about 10 days.

yes...so true...almost all of Del Prado's mounted figures...especially the horses...are idle...uninspiring and non muscular...zero action on the mounts...

Hi Mike,

Im baackk.... Agree that the DelPrado horses are ;somewhat lacking all over.

I couldnt find any website reference to this as being a Visigoth. There was another image of a DelPrado visigoth.

I did find an Osprey image that clearly identified this fig as a Varangian Guard. They were armed with axes. So I looked for the nearest axe that I had. This was from a Starlux reject.

I also decided to redo the mtd fig a little. The legs were too stumpy and the head should be looking to one side. I animated the hoof to make it look more natural when the horse is striding. It's quite difficult to drill into the metal and insert wires.
