Can anyone give me a heads up on a dealer for Del Prado?
I am interested in duplicates { 4 same trooper} of some Napoleonic Russian , Prussian and Austrian Cavalry.See many on ebay but I would rather just find a dealer that can meet the requests and quantities desired.

Thank you!

Dear Fubar:
Old Northwest Trading Co. is the exclusive dealer for Del Prado figures in the U.S. Check out their website at www.delpradousa.com. According to the website and other posts on this forum, they are releasing four figures per month on a subscription basis. After the series is completed, they will be selling single figures, so you may have to wait awhile to get four of a particular figure from a dealer.:(

Hi Guys,

Quick question on Del Prado. What are they made of plastic of metal? I like the looks and have been thinking of getting some since they are of a reasonable cost.

Thanks Dave

Dear Fubar,
On the Old Northwest Trading Co. site (http://www.oldnwtc.com/), I noticed that ONTC is selling individual figures as they become available for subscription. They are only offering 4 figures per month, so you would have to wait till the figures that you want are available for subscription before you can purchase them individually. First 4 figures from the Cavalry of the Napoleonic Wars series will be available on 2/1/06.:)

I bought all my DelPrado figures, over 100, all from ebay, and all from the UK.
If I,m looking at MTS prices, $19.99 each, plus shipping. I think you can actually get them cheaper doing the ebay route.
Never had a problem with shipping if you go the air mail way. Via ship can take 6 weeks.

Gary and I agree again. I find ebay to much cheaper and a better way to go. Never had a problem with shipping from the UK.

I too agree that pricing, especially if buying multiples, seems to favor eBay over the currently advertised pricing in the US. I now have 250 Napoleonic Cavalry and 60 Napoleon at War figures. I do not collect the entire series, I collect multiples of the versions I like. Just the other day I used my paypal account to calculate how much I paid in total for all the figures and what the average amount per figure is, including S&H. My average price including S&H for each figure is $16.81. With prices here in the US at $14.95 (if I remember the amount correctly) and S&H in addition to that, to me the prices seem about equal. The issue for me is timing. I am unwilling to wait two or three years for the higher number figures when I can get them now on eBay. Del Prado accompany my K&C fellows quite nicely. Although K&C is my favorite, I do like collecting other companies as well. :) Michael

Sceic, Wow ! 250 cavalry! Must be quite a splendid sight !
Is there a certain person on ebay you can recommend? Their ebay handle would be good so I can track them down and inquire into multiples of the same troopers.

As far as Frontline figures go , I have several hundred Napoleonic foot { 150 French, 60 Prussians and a dozen 95th rifles} All the artillery sets including a couple French Guard foot duplicates and about 90 Cavalry, mostly French.
I do admit they are just a little too toy soliderish in the face but overall they are just great in my opinian. Paint jobs are excellent and theres a pretty fair assortment, about as good as I have found for variety.

Hoping too see them release some French Legere sets at some point.French in overcoats would be interesting as well. I like the campaign look so some troops with shako covers, overcoats, ratty trousers ect would be good.

Thanks for the advice gang.

These are just some eBayers I have dealt with. I do not know if they are still selling Del Prado or not. Some may have multiples, but generally they have individuals that they aquire in some manner. But if you don't ask, the answer is always no.

I have never had a problem with any eBayer in the UK. Twice the items did not show up and they refunded my money without hesitation. Very good people selling on eBay in the UK. I have had the same experience with US sellers, never any problems even with shipping. Hope this helps. You should also contact those who are currently listing Del Prados and ask them the same question. :) Michael

Now that was a good list and like you I have never had a problem with a purchase from an ebayer in the UK. I cant say the same of the US folks. As for the Del Pardo they seem to be getting more intrest as I have tryed a few times lately to pick up a couple of the Cavalry figures and keep getting out bid at the last second which as you can guess is making me crazy.

Anyway Good luck with the hunt!

Dave

Dave, I am more than likely one of the buyers who is driving you crazy. What's your ebay user id and I will be more careful in the future. Unless I really, really, really gotta have it. ;) :) Michael

Don,t believe him DMnamiot (Dave) he really, really, really, really wants them all :D Altough he hasn,t been to bad lately. He must finaly be running out of room or something.:p

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm a jerk....so what's new.:p I want what I want, and so do you guys.;)

I have a word program that I use to keep track of "what I have" and "what I want." The "what I have" list is very large, the "what I want" list is very small, only 4 more CNW and 8 NAW to go and most of them are not on the current eBay listing.

And anyway, all's fair in love, war, and toy soldier collecting. Hoist the "Black Flag" high. ;) Michael

Actually that has changed. Single figures are available the month of the release. So at this time the first 4 figures are available induidually from Men at War and Napoleonic foot.
