Showcasing my newest acquisition from Thomas Gunn’s Wooden Warbirds series - their beautiful Messerschmitt BF-110C 
The model represents a BF-110C flown by Hauptman Heinz Nacke that was part of the 6th Staffeln of Zerstörergeschwader 76 (6./ZG 76) when stationed at Abbeville, France, in August 1940. My display uses K&C Luftwaffe figures with Thomas Gunn diorama accessories.
If the wing tanks seem a little unusual, they are accurate representations of Luftwaffe 900 liter drop tanks. Those were rarely used, but there is photographic evidence of ZG 76 BF-110s equipped with those tanks (see period photo below).
Delivered on Christmas Eve, this aircraft model was technically my toy soldier Christmas present this year
