This morning I finished the 35"x12" desert diorama I have been working off and on during the holidays. I like to imagine the scene as an ancient wall and gate perhaps built in the time of Harod and the Roman occupation of the Holy Land. It looms over an old, yet still functioning, well that offers respite to weary and thirsty travelers. Here are some pics - Enjoy

A terrific scene and layout. Where did you get the blue sky backdrop?

Hi Randy. The blue sky backdrop is 3/16" sheet of Elmer's brand foam board that is sky-blue on one side, product #950-884. I got it at Michael's Craft Store. It comes in 30"x20" sheets and sells for $5.99 sheet. I had a 50% off coupon so it only cost me $3.00. This product also comes in plain white and a variety of other colors - used for posters, mounting pictures, et al. It really adds a nice dimension to the diorama - almost brings in to life so to speak.

So cool, it could be a refridgerator.

Mike, that's a fantastic creation. I really like the way you've blended the scenic items in to the base, and the terrain detailing is nothing short of superb. Top job!
