detachable or 'low vis' stands (1 Viewer)

Some of my figures come without a stand,e.g. tank riders, tank crew, and
are easier to place in a vehicle like a truck or LCA. They also look better (IMHO) than those with the bulky stands. Wouldn't it be nice to have your figures with smaller footprint,maybe transparent stands or even detachable like the
engine cowlings on my GMP P40 and P51.These are kept in place by means of
tiny magnets.The only benefit of those bulky stands is that your figures are more stable during wargames.I think that most collectors just have them on
'static'display.

Your comment got me to take a closer look at my figures. It looks like half of the figures fit in vehicles or on vehicles in stable poses like tank riders and have no stands. And a very few in stable poses on the ground (i.e. kneeling) also have no stands. Almost all standing figures have stands for stability. Some kneeling or prone figures have stands and I guess that was the choice of the manufacturer.

I can see why no stand figures might be preferable in a display which includes ground cover - more realistic. But on reflection, I prefer stability I'm nervous about putting a few of the no stand figures on vehicles as a small knock can topple them and they could fall and break - and things are too frequently knocked in model soldier collecting.

Point taken,but sometimes they look like they're standing on a pile of camel
dung! The magnet solution could be interesting.
