The books are great. I've read them all. Very funny.

I haven't read the books. Ihe characters are funny. Nice shots of Sicilian countryside and architecture.

It is a bit of a sleeper that Montalbano series but well worth watching.

You are right about the characters in the series. The bumbling Clouseau type uniformed cop at the station always makes me laugh.

The pace of the story is quite slow as well, but in a good way.

Both in the books and the TV series Montalbano likes a good meal and goes out of his way for certain dishes.
Google Recipes Montalbano. There is quite a following in some food circles. We're going to try some. Italian, French, and
German are the only "ethnic" foods I'll touch.. So maybe some Sicilian to add to the Neapolitan and Northern Italian cuisine.
