Great and accurate dio, as usual. I like the door especially :salute::

Excellent work! Your dioramas are top notch. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Brendan

Did you take off the basis in the legionnaire and the donkey?

Only from the legionnaire . He stands perfectly straight without a base and does not fall over . The donkey's base is camouflaged by the sand and glued to the dio base

Guy,
Love the diorama. Did you make the ruin?
Benjamin

I also want to show you a close up picture of the Sahara sandy soil and the building door . Soil is made out of polyfilla universal filler; make sure when you make a sandy soil not to forget footprints ( mule and figure) and other details such as all sizes of small stones. The door is a piece of balsa wood, engraved, painted and wheathered. Later I will show some close up pics of the mule and FFL figure which were slightly repainted and weathered.

fantastic little diorama! it is a real art work.
Guy thanks for sharing it with us.

Harrie.

I really like vignettes as they allow for extraordinary detail and realism.
I got a book showcasing Per Olav Lund (World of Dioramas) last year and haven't looked at dioramas the same since (not that I can do any myself I should make clear).

Your small diorama looks exquisite to me.
The bridge, gully, doorway...well all of it really...looks real even in the close up photos.

Makes me want to have a go myself though I kind of dread the inevitable result :)

Here is a close up picture of the Legionnaire and the donkey
1.The légionnaire : I changed the original blue of his tunic: a darker blue for the uniform and a much lighter blue to highlight the folds
I repainted his trousers and weathered them in a more dusty way
2. The donkey: I added a bit of brown here and there ( head and tail)and repainted the pack on its back
unfortunately my camera is not so good and a lot of the effects are not visible in the pictures
