I am going to make a small diorama with the german t-34. The question is, what kind of German troops i best can use to acompany the tank.

Thanks Robert

Hi Robert....The T34/76 was captured and used in large numbers by the germans. The time slot that these Soviet tanks fell into German hands was mid 1941 to 1943..At this point the 34/76 was replaced by the 34/85 and the German army was on the retreat. If my information is correct the T34/76 was even present at Kursk...(22 tanks) and i believe belonged to the2nd Panzer SS Division. I have seen photo"s of 34/76 tanks with grey uniformed jackbooted soldiers, and also with SSers in camo smocks.....So i suppose the choice is up to you..!!. Hope this is of help.

Hey Robert, Taking a look at the background you have, these set's should go nice with your Dio.The problem is I believe most are retired.

Thanks for the quick response guys, so if i understand is any waffen ss good.
I can use for example WS031 as tank riders, and ws120,123 next to the tank.

Robert

I would say for early war use WS038/WS039/WS040/WS046...(without sign)...Or later war ws110 through 114. Think you would be historically safe with these figures..IMO...!!

Ok Thanks Steve, then i go for the later ones ( i think), these are still available.

Robert

I think you have been given some good info. I would say also that WSS 31 would be ideal for this tank as the Totenkopf very early on began to wear camo smocks. The good thing with the AFV and its use means that standard grey uniform and camo can be used or, even a combination of both equally well and be historically accurate

Look forward to the pics
Mitch
