I just received two of the Recently released Shores of Tripoli U.S. Marines, including the LT O'Bannon figure. After comparing them side by side with the earlier Marines released in this series, I must say that I am extremely disappointed. The quality of the latest figures, both in the detail of the casting and the quality of the painting, is far below, a generation below, the earlier releases. This is most evident in the detail and painting of hands and faces -- the newest figures have soft, dimestore toy-like features and little attempt at shading in the paintjob. Will probably pass on further HB figures for now.

You should let Ana know. I am sure she will make it right. She is very customer oriented and wants collectors to be happy.

Any chance of seeing comparison photos of the 1st and 2nd releases. Thanks, Michael

Hello,

I'm sorry that you are not happy with your new SOT figures. Our quality has been consistently the same since set 3 up to the last single marines released.

If you have any of our very first figures you might have noticed a quality difference. Those were painted in the US, but we couldn't keep on producing there since the quality couldn't be kept with those prices. Production came back to Buenos Aires then, with our usual painting style.

I'm sorry you are not satisfied with your new figures. Unfortunately I cannot offer you the same painting style from the SOT beginning. You can always return them if you want. Sorry for that.

Ana

I have a friend who lives in the next hamlet to me who collects this range and who I have just started on HB vehicles and have seen this range all of it in his home and cannot see this ''generational'' gap in painting perhaps you could post some pics to show this accusation as I just don't see it to warrant the extent of this post.
