I received my first Collector's Showcase wheeled vehicle and must say it was not a Stella performance.I purchased the Normandy Sd.Kfz. 232 and upon removing it from the box, one of the wheels came off. I was under the impression that they would roll like their King & Country or Thomas Gunn counterparts, but they do not. Some of the other wheels are loose which makes me afraid of displaying or handling the vehicle in dioramas. Do all of their wheeled vehicles have non-movable wheels? I was excited by this release since there are very few reproductions of the 232 on the market today. But now am disappointed..... My only other issue are the decals for the vehicle which are already peeling. I thought that issue was resolved? Had the same problem with the Tiger tank release as well.

I recall there being another thread describing problems with this model. Is the wheel fixable? I saw this model at a show & would still consider getting it if these fixes were doable. It's a nice piece

I actually dremeled a wheel off, looking for a way to re axle and roll them. ( I did this on an earlier model. ) I did repair it after I discovered the inserts were solid metal and I could not drill through to replace my own free rolling axles..Michael

Can I ask a stupid question: why not return it ^&confuse (unless it's retired and you really want to have it).

I have to agree with Jazzeum. I would call up CS and tell them Your problem and how disappointed You are with their item. Tell them You want an exchange, a credit or refund. They are a great company and I can not see why they would not work with You on this problem. This issue is not good for them. Good Luck.

No one should spend hard earned money on any piece from any company and be dissatisfied. We've pm'd ExRanger and let him know we'll do whatever it takes to have him a fully satisfied customer.

Cheers One And All!

Since we have your attention. I am a big fan of the rolling wheels on vehicles. Some of your early stuff had them..Why the switch? Thanks, Michael

So many customers contacted us about pieces rolling of their shelves we thought, hey lets keep the breaks on as they are display models as it is anyway.

Cheers!

I prefer non rolling wheels as these are not toys so, considering I don't want to roll these expensive items around the floor I wish all manufacturers would make them this way

If the wheels don't turn, they can't roll off a shelf

Agree with you Brian. I don't want rolling wheels on my vehicles. These are not toys to play with and I want them to stay where I place them {sm3}.

I agree with you about showing them on shelves...But for those who make dio, the rolling wheels give you the possibility to put extra weathering, like snow, dust, etc.

Not sure I would agree I make dio's and it does not make any difference to how you weather either the wheels or groundwork if the wheels move or don't.

I have always stated that moving wheels and all the other things like opening doors etc are not necessary and are a recipe for breaking somewhere along the line. Either from over zealous grown up's playing with the parts!!! or the many stories we hear and I have seen of stuff rolling of shelves.

They are just not needed and I am glad Brian has sorted this issue out

I make dios too but don't see rolling wheels on vehicles would make it any easier or better when weathering them. So maybe I'm missing something.....For me I still prefer non rolling wheels for mine.

LOL.

While setting up at a show a few years ago, I placed a vehicle on the table, turned to open another box and accidently banged into the table.

The vehicle proceeded to roll off the table, hit the floor and vaya con dios my darling.

Someone needs to explain to me why collectors want wheels that roll as like Mitch says, unless you plan on rolling them around on the floor, I don't see why this feature is so important.

Lasalle can help set you up {sm4}

Get it touch with every company that makes vehicles with wheels that roll, you can work out a deal to include a set of these with each vehicle, you'll be a toy soldier millionaire..................

And no one will accuse you of malfeasance.

Well first you'd have to explain to people what malfeasance is; I've been waiting all week long to use it in a conversation, but the opportunity hasn't presented itself just yet...........:wink2:
