The mud in the tracks are for support and strength. There might have been track break issues. I don't really like it either but its way better than before.

I totally agree! I also prefer clean tracks and that's why I bought the classic
Sherman. If I want mud on my tracks I can 'dirty' them myself.
I missed out on the Figarti Firefly because I expected K&C to come with a great model. After looking at these pictures I must admit that I'm very disappointed. Figarti's Firefly looks much better. Hope they're still available!!!!

Sorry but they may have had a purpose for support originally, but it's not needed today with the newer models. I have to believe it is just an artistic choice.

I have now been informed that there was an issue with track fragility and that the mud does have a support function. :eek:
