Display Cabinets/Bookcases (1 Viewer)

Well Combat, did you ever decide what you were going to do for shelving/display cases?

This is a work in progress. I decided to have the shelving unit built-in to save space. Nothing elaborate, but including adjustable shelves as some items like the Figarti V-2 don't fit in a standard bookcase. One last idea is to build a middle shelf level that has greater depth/width. That will accomodate a larger dio display.

That is out of this world Michel. It looks like a shop. I never realized you had such a massive collection of toy soldiers. I think a trip to Belgium is in order :D :D :D

Brilliant display Michel im hopeing to set up some better shelving myself this year as so much of my stuff is hidden away im boxes half the time :(

Yo Michel, thats the best display cabinets I have seen, But would only do for the guys with a spare room, but if your lucky enough to have a spare room, you couldn't get better, and all the space in the top for the boxes. Really excellent set up.
Bernard.

Hi Bernard,
I'm lucky enough to have some space in my house.
The shelves are not part of a wall they are actually making the wall between my soldiers barracks and the rest of the room. As space is beginning to be scarce here, the regiments are planning an offensive on the nearby bookshleves :D

Hi Scott,
You would be welcome !
And a (some) Belgian beer(s) would be waiting for you! The finest beers in the world (6 words that may start a nice discussion :D)
Santé !

Just finishing up the room and new cabinets. Also getting the hang of the digital camera - here is a partial picture of the room. You can get a sense of the built-in cabinets.

Take a look at ikea cabinets, yes they are not high quality, but they may do the job. Not sure if they have any with locking doors though.

Doug,

What wood is the cabinet made of? Looks like a really nice finish to it.

Theres a company in Birmingham UK called 'Picture pride displays' who make some great cabinets for both figures and vehicles.

Couple more angles of the new cabinets. Strongly recommend adjustable levels to accomodate larger items like the V-2s.

Very nice Combat very nice indeed. Glad to see you are getting the hang of posting pics and sharing your collection with us. The new shelving units look wonderful also.

Ha. Good eyes. One of those is signed by the voice of "Speed" Peter Fernandez. Any guesses on the photos?

My eyes aren't that good - I can't make out the contents of the photos at all. If you ever make it to the Symposium or otherwise come visit, I will pull out of storage all the Resaurus Speed Racer Figures and the Mark V Playset all mint on the card or in the box, which I am saving for my little guy when he gets old enough to appreciate Speed, Racer X, Spridle, Chim-Chim, Trixie, Pops Racer, Inspector Detector and the other classic characters.:D
