A post by a new member got me thinking about display tables and cases.
I looked at the Fine Scale Modeler site referenced but it seems you can't access much without a trial subscription. I suspect this topic may have been discussed already here but what do people use and recommend for this purpose, assuming you are carpentry competitent? For example, I quick search turned up these Gerard Lukas cabinets that seem not too bad but I wonder about the glass dimensions needed for a set of 100 or more 60mm metal figures and accessories?http://www.displays2go.com/product.gl.asp?ID=10292
Any thoughts or links on this?

I don't know where you are in New England but when I lived in "Woosta", I used to go to a warehouse in Marlboro, MA. that dealt in used office and retail equipment. Stuff is in excellent condition and they had many display cases. Might want to check them out. $40(2005) delivery fee at the time and that was for three large display cases.

I picked up my display case from Showcase Designs in Minnisota. I think the website is www.showcasedesigns.biz

They have a wide range of display cases. I am getting to the point were I need to order another one.

If you have an IKEA nearby you may want to also try them. The have a few glass fronted or all glass cases and they are cheap !!!

Here is an example (borrowed from the net) I have one cost me about $69.00 Canadian.
